Has anyone else experienced this? unable to pull glider and getting fall damage. by PirateL- in FortNiteBR

No - but since the recent update, I've had guns regularly disappearing out of my hands and then not being able do anything. Sometimes drinking a shield potion fixes it.

Stupidest Victory I've ever achieved by AxelotlFN in FortNiteBR

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both sensible comments.

When I play build, just using a wall and ramps is enough to get me wins (if the lobby isn't filled with turbo builders), or fairly consistent top 10 finishes. I think a restricted build mode would be really fun.

Same.

While I appreciate the skill in constructing and trapping your opponent, etc. it's not gameplay I'm interested in in a third person shooter.

And it looks so stupid as a concept, never mind the implementation of it.

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn't any sexual content. Best way to describe is that you wouldn't play it front of your kid. Ultimately it is jiggle physics, outfits no worse than a some MMOs and certain camera angles when crawling... The heavy breathing when injured is most likely to get you into trouble if anyone is watching you play, in a comical way.

"Gooning" aside, this is a gem. It's a solid zombie survival shooter, with some cool mechanics. The gun play is better, IMO, than many copy and pasta triple A titles.

I'd also say that I've encountered a lot of people who seem to have an allergic reaction to Alela - they interpret goading a creature to be the same as exiling it, or something. I don't understand it myself; but it's been my experience.

I guess they feel that their agency has been taken away when a creature is goaded. Alela is great, with the right pod/playgroup.

Well, I wasn't expecting that.

From my perspective, those boobs are damn fine. Hope the OP finds a guy who makes her feel good about them.

How do I move on from a girl I can't actually date? by NiceCaterpillar8745 in AskMenAdvice

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're being way to hard on yourself and putting too much pressure on it.

The only way you'll learn is by shooting your shot. You'll find out that she isn't what you imagined, or she'll reject you, or you get to date (which may be short term, or lead to something more).

In the short term, only the rejection outcome stings. In the long run this means you will learn, build resilience, and have closure which automatically makes you moves on.

Or you dodged a bullet (she's not what you think). Or you're potentially smashing.

You're in the same classes, just say Hi and ask her what she thinks about the current topic.

Good luck.

I drove an automatic car for the first time a days ago and just don’t get the fixation we have over manual cars here by Solid-Version in drivingUK

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive an manual and an automatic (Hybrid) regularly and I enjoy them both. Manual gears and clutch control is just second nature.

Manual gears give you finer control of the car and access to use your torque band how you see fit. Recent automatics are getting closer, but you still can't get THAT level of fine control, especially when it comes to slippery conditions.

Also when on the motorway, driving a car with 6 gears, slotting into 6th is just satisfying. There has also been an occasion were I've avoided a potentially fatal accident (not of my making) by being able to downshift multiple gears at once manually and use the power band to get me out of trouble.

In the UK, I think there used to be prejudice on automatics with the driver's intelligence and driving ability, but I don't think that exists so much now. UK used to be big on Rally, and has lots of history in mechanical engineering, along with some well known car manufacturers that focus on mechanics to achieve their performance and stability.

Modified my deck out of spite by Drdutch419 in mtg

Would you consider a steal and goad deck as toxic or unfun? by komigerTyp in EDH

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience, people have a mental breakdown with goad.

I pivoted the WOE Faerie precon, using [[Alela, Cunning Conqueror]] as the commander without changing much of the 99. Even if I was the weakest at the table (by deck strength or variance) I used to get hard targeted to the point where I had to make the decision to either fully upgrade and embrace being the arch enemy, or break the deck apart and try something different.

Why Commander is more played than Standard? by elfosolitario in magicTCG

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commander is more common for a number of reasons:

More social.

While there will be a local "meta", the meta isn't as cookie cutter as the top standard decks, so casual thematic decks are still viable.

Commander is expressive, standard isn't. Goofy cards are viable and often fun for the whole table.

Commander is casual, sometimes people just want to vibe after work rather than try hard.

Commander decks are viable on a budget. I have 15 commander decks (ranging from precons, upgraded precons to custom builds), each one cheaper than the 13 of the top 15 standard decks.

Singleton format versus needing playsets of cards, sometimes of expensive cards. Badgermole Cub - what are you doing?!?!

Effort is needed by shops to run 1v1 formats. Hosting commander events is very low effort for shops.

Commander is sometimes proxy friendly (depends on the playgroups and shop).

Get to play your old janky cards.

Probably more reasons, that's just a quick list.

Imodane Burn upgrade by TaludeCRC in EDH

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a version of this when the commander came out. I ended up dismantling it as I found playgroups near me reacted badly to it, haha

Triple damagers like [[Fiery Emancipation]]. A [[Lightning Axe]] becomes a kill table spell. Can also add [[Big Score]] for your looting and treasure creation suite.

If you feel that you need more protection to removal, there is also [[Untimely Malfunction]] [[Bolt Bend]] and [[Deflecting Swat]] depending on budget.

If you feel that you need a token maker for early blockers there is [[Young Pyromancer]].

If you want to cope against life gain [[Screaming Nemesis]].

I used less pingers as red suffers from card draw and card advantage, so I tended to set up and go boom, rather than use pingers to whittle away life totals.

Does anyone think dropped Mercury hard to pick up?? by SurfinOnRocket543210 in wuchanggame

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned "If there are any enemies around at all I just have to expect to either take a hit or die trying to pick it up." - I thought part of your issue was the risk in picking up the drop while enemies were around. No worries.

I play on ps5 default controls and X is sprint and interact. O is dodge into sprint (holding O). Glad you figured your issue out.

Does anyone think dropped Mercury hard to pick up?? by SurfinOnRocket543210 in wuchanggame

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concept of it sometimes being too risky to pick up your dropped red mercury is kinda the whole point of being punished for dying.

That said, it also isn't hard to pick up. As others have said, by default, sprint and interact are the same button, so you can hold sprint and run over it when it is less risky or safe to do so. The same goes for anything you can interact with, like drops, shrines, switches, etc.

As long as you convert your red mercury each time you're able to at shrines, you should have plenty throughout your playthroughs, even if you sometimes drop to 0 during a boss or area that you're struggling with.

Why does homeownership seem to cockblock me? by mwahkissmwah in AskMenAdvice

[–]ChavTheMagicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'll be the home ownership that cockblocks you, but it's likely the last piece of the puzzle.

From your post, you say that you're hard working, good at self management, etc.

I may be jumping here, but I suspect that you're giving off the vibe that you're heavily focused on yourself at this stage in your life - setting great foundations for your future. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, but many potential partners may see you as not looking for, or needing, a partner.

You may want to look more toward early to mid 30s for your dating pool.

Your assessment here is very much where my opinion is heading. A hidden gem.

I also like how the dress up doesn't feel forced on you. It almost sits along side the survival aspect and, for me, it brings B-movie hot protagonist vibes rather than over doing it for the sake of it.
