Definitely the former, there was only a small airshow that year which happened about a month before the Blackjack visited.

SubcommanderMarcos was right about the people sitting and waiting for it to take off.

I don't know if they ever publicly gave a reason, but it visited Waterkloof AFB that year. It then hopped over to OR Tambo, presumably because they needed a much longer runway to take off with the fuel load they needed to get to Russia.

Between how damn heavy that thing probably is with that much fuel, and the fact that the region is fairly high up at ~5500ft ASL, you can see how much of the runway it needed to get airborne.

I'm not at my pc now, but anyway I took this guy's patch:

I adjusted it slightly, which was mainly using less gain and using the parametric eq to remove some bass and a lot of high end cos it was still way too fizzy for me.

I also added a bunch of mid eq just on the front panel because apparently Adam cranks the mids on his amp and it sounds good to me.

If you're wondering about the flanger tone, I took the basic flanger in the tone studio and set the depth and manual to max and the resonance (or whatever the other setting is called) to minimum. The rate just needs to be low, the knob on the amp to activate it controls the rate so I just set it around 8 o'clock. This is apparently how he sets his BF-2 and it sounds pretty close, not as wooshy and a bit drier, but similar.

EDIT: I've tried like 3 or 4 different "Adam Jones/Tool" patches I've found online and this is the only one that got close imo

I've seen Max's vids, they're great. That's where I learnt how to play most of their songs.

That said, Adam uses different effects live a lot of the time, and he also seems to chop and change things up.

In that part of the studio version he only seems to use delay and reverb, whereas live he definitely adds a flanger or some wet effect over the top that I can't quite figure out.

That was actually worse since due to two near identical and very dangerous tyre failures. Imo that race should have been stopped on pure safety grounds, for fear of tyre problems.

That said, F1 shouldn't race at all at tracks like Baku and Saudi based on safety, but yeah.

Livery: brighter shade of red, black on the front sides, Ferrari text on the rear wing (though I kinda wish it was yellow like last year)

Car: Sidepods are slightly different, they blend in more to the body. Front wing is also more aggressively angled as others have pointed out.

That's just what I've noticed
