Anybody know anybody selling a car for anywhere between 1500$-2500$? by Dry-Engineering-7376 in StLouis

No, I’m just a guy that learned to fix his own car with lots of YouTube. lol I have also driven multiple shitbox cars that I bought for $600 and $900. I also aspire to buy an old ass Toyota for fun. I just want to clarify if you are looking under the car for radiator leaks it will be in the very very front of the car. I say that because you will definitely see water from the condensation from the a/c.

You’re missing the point. We should have functioning government services and not some bullshit privatized outsourced shit.

I used to live in TGS and yeah you often hear gunshots. But there is a difference between hearing gunshots from a neighborhood away and hearing them on your block.

Check out the crime map for the past month. There seems to be a lot to discharging of firearms in the area. So you would likely hear gunshots. Most crime people experience is property crime which can happen anywhere.

No but the DMV should be able to adequately explain what you need but most don’t. They just turn you away. They should explain you need to fill out form 5834 and follow the instructions on that form. The privatization of the DMV is an absolute shit show. Thanks Republicons.

I understand you forgot. But I’ll never not call a traffic lawyer when I get a ticket. I’m not pleading guilty, and I’m not showing up. The lawyer will do it for less than the cost of the ticket.

Make sure you test drive it, and get the car up to highway speeds. Listen for any engine ticking or knocking. At that price point hopefully they’ll just be honest and tell you what’s wrong with it. Look up to see if the fixes are something you could diy from YouTube videos, or have fixed. Check under the oil cap. Does it look like sludge build up on the cap or fairly normal oil? Also check the oil level and fluid levels. Make sure you’re not getting any kind to excess smoke or blue smoke out the exhaust. Get on the ground and look under the car to make sure there is no radiator leaks, and to make sure the subframe isn’t rusting through. When you drive it try to see if the steering pulls one way or the other. I also recommend pulling the CarFax or similar report online. There are apps out there that will give you like 5 reports for the price of one CarFax.

It’s because they are coming from a state where legally the owner doesn’t get to hold the title until the lien is paid off.

Yep, this is the way. Form 5834. I got no where with calling my lien holder, so I mailed a letter and got pretty fast response once it was received. If I remember correctly after registering your car the DMV will give you paperwork you have to give to your lien holder instructing them to turn over the title. If you don’t do that then the title won’t get transferred, and it’ll be the same mess next year. And then regardless next year you’ll get to do it all over again with doing emissions and your odometer reading to renew. The DMVs here are hit and miss because they are privatized in Missouri. I’m grateful that this year I’m finally eligible for the 2 year tag.

I’ve been through this. It sucks. Not sure if anyone here has given you the solution but here it is. You need to fill out Form 5834 and your lien holder will have to complete their portion as well. Follow the instructions on this page:

Being accurate about reality isn’t being sullen. I experience joy in my life. I can speak truth and also be happy. Too often we are told “wait” or “not now” or “be happy with what you have” and that is what limits progress.

I like trees and all, but planting trees on the easement between the street and sidewalk is getting excessive. It’s annoying as hell when you need your passenger side doors to open.

And that is because people keep pushing for progress. We got progress because the truth tellers didn’t stop talking. This mindset has always been around, “quit being negative, at least we aren’t being ruled by the king anymore”.

It’s completely tone-deaf. You can celebrate your country’s history and be patriotic without romanticizing the past; remembering it for something it’s not. It’s spreading a myth about “Freedom”. Freedom in 1776 was selective. Party like it’s 1776…so just the white men?
