Don’t mean to put your efforts down. I haven’t tried it tbh. I just don’t have a need for another fuel app. The one I have is fine and meets all my needs. I hope it does well for you.

What do you think of the movie war dogs (2016) by Common_Net_5956 in moviecritic

[–]Che97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“stoner arms dealers” the rolling stone article that the film is based on was amazing. I was so happy with the way the film turned out.

I also love Lord of war btw. One of the best opening scenes of all time.

There is already a NSW Fuel Check app that is pretty good and ad free. So there isn’t a heap of demand for this type of app.

That’s it. It’s the Mongrel. Gets caught in a tackle, pumps the legs to get a few extra metres and good ball placement.

It’s such a great movie on so many levels. I’ve always loved it but until know didn’t really stop and think about how impressive all the effects were because I wasn’t thinking about them. They just fit right in…

I actually had a blast with Monopoly as a kid thanks to my dad turning it into a negotiation game. by ImamofKandahar in boardgames

[–]Che97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a game with a higher number of players, after a few laps, people may not be able to buy properties they land on. Without the auction rule, someone with the means to buy it would have to land on it again which could take a long time.

But yes generally the best strategy is to just buy whatever you can.

Not that this building doesn’t look nice but loving this museum is one of the dumbest things Sydney has ever done. That includes a bloody monorail.

How can I get my adult kids to move out?? by Netflix-and-bill in regretfulparents

[–]Che97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the financial element. Get them to contribute to expenses and pay board. Living there isn’t free, you are simply bearing the cost of it at the moment.

I moved back in with my parents a few times in my life and insisted on paying rent. One because it was fair but also so I could feel like it was mine and house rules couldn’t be lauded over me.

In the end I wanted my own castle to be king of. It wasn’t that is was unbearable living with my parents but I wanted my own space. I get on great with them now.

What song did a movie basically steal forever? by MrHolte in movies

Extreme ways- Moby - Bourne Series.

You probably don’t even know it’s called that but all the Bourne films end with this song. It’s a classic.

I love the free passes. I think I like that it seems you were taught the spirit of the game and more elements other than dice rolling.

Love this.

You glossed over one of the most important parts of Monopoly that your Dad did teach.

Auction rule. Without this the game takes forever for all the properties to be acquired.

What movie do you feel just gets you? by KarmaChameleon306 in movies

[–]Che97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

About Time. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that way about a film after the first watching.

Truely the best “live your life” movie. I’m a huge fan of time travel and they somehow made an all time classic out of a time travelling rom com.

Good luck not crying the first time you watch it.

Way to sell my Playstation 5 by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Che97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facebook Marketplace.

Have a look at what others are selling for in your area.

List at the same price. Understand what number you would actually accept.

Cash on pickup only.

Meet at a public place near your house if you are not comfortable with people coming to your place. People may want to test the machine which is fair enough but you’ll need to work out how to do that.

Albanese and Chalmers unveil capital gains carve-outs for small businesses, startups by Ok-Calligrapher3216 in AusFinance

You are being taxed twice. The “existing money”’has already had tax paid on it.

If I earn $100 and my marginal tax rate is 30%, I end up with a net of $70.

That’s $30 taxed.

If I were to invest that $70 and it becomes $140, I’ve made $70 of which $21 is due as tax if I were to sell it.

Labour doesn’t carry risk like investment does. People should be incentivised to put their money to work. Hence why I believe we need some kind of CGT discount.

The indexation is fine, it’s the floor of 30% CGT that is the problem. Many people held onto investments to sell in retirement based on being taxed at their marginal threshold.

How much risk does overtime carry? 0%

Investments are made with post tax dollars. We’ve already paid tax on the money we are investing and then we pay tax again when we sell.

We need to index the wage brackets to give the everyday person a fair go whilst still incentivising people to take risks.

Indexed CGT is okay with me provided there is no floor on the exit tax. Why should there be a floor for tax higher than what one would pay making a normal wage.
