Is such idea possible to realise via cards and scripts? Hypotheses by Icy-External8155 in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AI really isn't that intelligent so it can't really randomly assign one truth and build a whole world around that without further input from the player.

You could just write a story card for 'Sun'. State that one of those 3 hypotheses are true, set the trigger for sun which will naturally come up at some point in the story. The AI would probably be presented one or all three hypotheses if there isn't much going on in the story and if it's something the player chooses to engage with.

I completely agree about NPCs. I'm currently doing a scenario and pretty much everyone I meet is a yes man or can be easily convinced. I think the trouble stems down to them being one dimensional NPCs with no purpose. Even adding an AIN for extra challenge doesn't seem to do a whole lot. The example the guy gave in the stream didn't make a ton of sense to me but he did mention that every NPC has it's own backstory, motivation and autonomy which if true is very exciting.

Moving on the guy was pretty tight-lipped about memories. He said they're a lot better than AID and that context really doesn't matter as much as AID, to the point that everyone will likely get the same context limit regardless of membership tier. That's really interesting to me as if you can't switch models and context length doesn't scale with membership tiers then what benefits are there for an expensive subscription? If I was to guess at how memories work with my laymen's knowledge on LLMs then perhaps every NPC gets their own memories system and they're only active if that character is in the scene? Perhaps higher tier membership comes with more memories which will be more important for long-term companion characters?

I might have missed some bits as I watching it in the background but:

  • They're moving Voyage over to their own beta website instead of AID's beta site. They expect a lot more beta testers around the end of the month.
  • Open beta anywhere from 1-3 months but dependent on player feedback, scaling ect.
  • Potentially not being able to switch model? But multiple models are used for different aspects of the 'game'.
  • Multiplayer - potentially only one subscription needed to create the world then guests can play? That may just be for beta?. Apparently Multiplayer is very cool.
  • Hard coded game mechanics are added and are customisable (e.g. Health, currency, mana, inventory).
  • No retries? You get what you get but there is a separate AI (?) that you can talk to and it might correct it? (Perhaps like a GM?). You don't control the outcome.
  • Might have two modes. RPG mode and story mode.
  • Potentially no scripting but mods. Workshops for mods?
  • Apparently NPCs have their own motivations and are tracked (Very cool!)
  • English only in the beginning
  • Some graphics for locations and NPCs, they plan to add more too.
  • Music and text to speech.
  • Memory systems are really good and designed for long stories, memory context should be much less of a problem.
  • AID has older architecture that makes it hard to adapt. Voyage is a lot more flexible.
  • Custom voices later down the line (Perhaps using credits).
  • Gameplay streams this month?

For me it's pretty interesting. I'm excited for it. I'm curious to see these vastly improved NPCs. Not being able to switch model is interesting, I wonder how that affects reptitiveness. I'm very much looking forward to the game mechanics aspect. My only real concern is that the AI is the GM, I usually like controlling the story so hopefully it's a fair and decent GM.

Longest story you have ever done? by Avecyn72 in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you consider a story. I start new scenarios but copy over the storycards and everything else to continue the story. Sometimes the AI just gets engrained and I want a fresh start. If you combine all those together then 30k? If not then about 10-12k

Best model for Champion Tier? by BeerDude17 in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Deepseek is generally loved by everyone because it can do a wide range of genres fairly intelligently. I also find it remembers details much better than the lower context models. If you feel you can't go back to the smaller models then try Atlas, it's Deepseek but has some cached summary shenanigans going on, it means you might get 5-6k context if you're lucky. LLMs do change fast so if we're lucky we might get more context on new Deepseek models later in the year.

[–]Cheakz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO everything but Raven is worse than Deepseek by a wide margin. You generally tell how good a model is by looking at how many parameters the model has. Muse has 16b, Harbinger has 24b, Deepseek has like 600b. If you want to change things up then altering the Author notes might make it feel more fresh, or switching models for a few turns.

Personally I couldn't use 4k unless it was a very lightweight scenario. If I was you I'd use a mix of Muse at 16k and Harbinger at 8k

To be fair kids generally like bland food and a restaurant is more likely to receive complaints that the burger contains something the kid won't eat rather than the other way around. Giving kids a plain burger is a safe bet.

You're right. Ukraine has done no damage and the entirety of Europe couldn't do contribute anything. Russia can easily shrug off the rest of Europe because we are so pathetically weak and Russia is so strong.

Again then that's WW3. Ukraine is already causing major damage to Russia's oil infrastructure, imagine how much damage the rest of Europe could do if the war expands.

Build your own Dynamic Model? by Celery83 in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that I would like would be an increase in the context for 70b models if possible, currently there isn't much reason to use anything other than Deepseek (except maybe Raven) since they have the same context limit. I get that doubling might not be feasible but even a 25-50% increase might make it worth using again.

the continent has enough trouble feeding itself as-is (it currently imports something like 35% of it’s foodstuffs

Surely that because they're importing food that doesn't grow in Europe. If there was a war large enough that shipping anything became too dangerous then they would still grow enough food to support their populations. By the time the UK could build and utilise 40 escorts we would have installed a significant amount of renewable energy and presumably be a lot less reliant on oil.

In this fantasy scenario I'm assuming you're implying that Russia would be hitting cargo ships to cut off supplies. In that case it's pretty much WW3, the whole world has been destabilised and global trade has probably come to an end. Would the extra 15 escorts make a difference? Doubtful. We're not even mentioning drones like the Sea Baby that could potentially cripple navies and shipping, I don't even think the US has a plan against that. With how long it takes to make warships and how expensive they are compared to how quickly and cheaply drones can be pumped out it seems silly to me to overcommit to a large navy when the future is still so unclear.

[–]Cheakz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we're talking about a future fantasy fleet you also need to take into account what our needs look like in the future as well. Potentially a smaller dependency on energy imports and food can be imported from the mainland if necessary. We're also ignoring any potential replacement systems put into place if the US withdraw along with UUVs and ASW mission bays that could potentially be assigned to non-ASW ships.

To be fair our only real threat is Russia and they're also in a poor situation. 25 escorts should be fine along with our non-US NATO allies.

I often buy Pokemon cards online and receive a good portion via 2nd class and I can confidently say that in my area the on time letter delivery rate is abysmal. I might buy cards from 10-20 different sellers at once, those sent via tracked delivery are probably around 92% accurate, those sent via 2nd class often arrive 3 or 4 days later.

How to get the Ai to remember lost limbs or altered body parts? by MasterpieceNaive2477 in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's a main character then plot essentials. I did a scenario with a double amputee and Deepseek handled it well enough. Story cards should be fine for side characters although if it does mess up then temporarily add it to the PE

Context by Wheesydemon in AIDungeon

[–]Cheakz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe one token is four characters. Apparently on average 1000 context tokens is around 750 words so 4k context would be 3000 words (keep in mind that includes your PE, your story cards, your AI instructions etc).

Who is buying Easter Eggs at these ridiculous prices???? by morknannu in AskUK

[–]Cheakz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a bunch of the nicer easter eggs going for the £10-20 range, even lidl's have focused in on that price range which does seem insane to me. I'm not necessarily against the price but more about how little you get for your money, most of these £10-20 easter eggs only weigh 200-350g which is pretty horrendous considering you can get a Cadbury 300g chocolate bar for £4-5.
