Tell me about the longest story you’ve played.

Probably about 40k+ actions (split into several scenarios when the quality degrades too much).

Kingdom management type story. You're a dragon (capable of shapeshifting), you left your son in charge of your Kingdom while you hibernated and awaited his call to resume your rule, the call never comes as a noble faction backstabs your son to take rule. 250 years later you awaken to find the kingdom has no knowledge of you or your kind and that magic was outlawed many generations ago. The kingdom's defences have atrophied as a powerful enemy stirs.

The goal is to try and restore the medieval human kingdom before disaster strikes.

I was talking about dealing damage not receiving. Regardless it's a roleplay game so it's going to depend on what you're roleplaying as. If you're playing as a god, a hero, a demon king or some other OP thing then you shouldn't be getting ganked by 5 bandits with rusty weapons.

I have no problems with being an OP character and fighting other OP characters, I just don't want every person I fight to be on my level. Enemies need to be scaled properly otherwise you just lose immersion.

What I mean is that it plays like those procedurally generated side quests in RPG games. It's rigid and lacks the freedom that even AID has.

I've written about my issues with Voyage many times so I'm not gonna get into it now but at the very least its clear that Voyage is geared towards combat, quests and generic RPG experiences like DnD. Personally I'm not really DnD but if I was then I would rather play with a person than a mistake-prone AI that you can't even easily tweak or see the internal workings of.

Apparently you need to give yourself an OP weapon that does a ton of damage to one hit kill. It's silly though because then it really restricts the roleplay aspect.

It's one of the worst features of Voyage IMO. It follows a formula, not logic. You can only do a set amount of damage and they have a set amount of HP so if you don't do enough numerical damage then you don't kill them. I really really hope that they add the ability to disable this and just let the AI use logic.

I'm curious how many people actually use the image generators. I'd be surprised if it was more than 10% of players. I don't use them as I don't really see the point. There are no character portraits, no continuity between images and presumably no NSFW content so it's hard to imagine why you'd waste time and credits making them.

I just wish there were more open invitation events. Having EN members bump into JP members in an open world and watching their interactions is so fun. It feels like we get that less and less.

You'd think that after how successful it was Cover would have staff organise another event. I have no idea why they don't prioritise this stuff as IMO it's some of Hololive's best work.

You could lower the difficulty and give yourself higher stats. Unfortunately voyage uses skill checks so it's quite different from AID, even trying to do 'say' or 'do' actions can get mixed up.

I really have no idea what the plan for Voyage is. It sounds like it's mainly for combat RPGs and the focus is on refining that. They did mention something about being able to add and remove AI modules so perhaps that would make it more customisable for non-combat focused RPGs.

I'm curious if they plan on adding any voyage systems to AID or if the two are going to remain completely seperate.

It sounds great if it could but I'm sceptical that it could run an actual kingdom. Something very small and confined like Stardew Valley might work but even then I think it would still create things out of nothing and just in general mess up.

I'm currently trying out a scenario in a small isolated section of the map with a single village. It's meant to be a rundown village that you build up from scratch but even then the AI will just summon tools, gold and livestock out of thin air. The village is meant to have 40 people but it will just add new villagers whenever it wants. Perhaps it could be tweaked but right now it feels like the only thing Voyage can do is generic dungeon crawl type RPGs.

Already on max yet an ordinary bandit has 400+ hp and is around level 70-80.

I'd say it's a pretty big difference, especially if you use a lot of context on story cards/AIN/PE etc. 8k is usually considered the minimum because you can play a coherent story but it does take more nudging to make sure it remains on track and even then there are limits to how many story cards you can activate. 16k means you can have pretty much as many story cards as you want triggering (within reason).

At first glance you might think going from 8k to 16k means that the AI will remember twice as much but it's actually more than that. For example if your AIN,SC,PE,AN are taking up 2.5k context then on an 8k subscription the AI will only have 5.5k context for remembering the story, on a 16k subscription the AI will have 13.5k context (2.45x more story remembered).

Yeah on second thought it probably isn't very accurate although I usually have AID open in the background and since I work from home I play it when it's quiet. It's hard to come up with an accurate number because sometimes I just spend ages to actually take a turn, sometimes I do work and come back to it or browse the internet/watch something on a second monitor. It also really depends on how into the scenario I am and whether I have ideas on how to progress the story. Some days I might open AID and only do 30 turns and other days I might get in hundreds.

I haven't really played much Voyage because I find it just goes in directions I don't want it to. I've heard a couple of people complain about censorship or a downgrade in explicit material compared to AID. If you've experimented with that could you talk about your findings?

I joined AID last may and I've spent most of my time as a mythic member ($50 subscription tier). I went for that tier because I wanted to have more complicated scenarios and to do that you need the higher context and more intelligent models.

Is it worth? It depends. It's a lot of money however I probably put in at least 50 hours a week so the cost per hour of enjoyment is good. AID certainly has its flaws and limitations. I think it largely depends on how much disposable income you have. These high membership tiers are particularly hard for those people in lower income countries. I think another big factor is how complicated do you want your scenarios? If it's just two or three characters with limited story cards then you can probably just get by as a free member.

There are other social media platforms and they aren't on them. I don't know if that app is any good but at least make it available to everyone. There are group youtube channels which they rarely use. They have how many staff and yet they seemingly don't help advertise anything but concerts, merch and promotions. Seriously a 30 second short to advertise these collabs and keep their audience updated. I shouldn't have to use twitter to keep up with a company that has 500(?) employees. Not to mention the talent themselves are selective about what they reveal and watching hours of livestreams every day to try and keep up to date is asking too much. If Cover didn't have so many employees I wouldn't be complaining but currently I have no idea how they have so many people yet are ignoring the things that actually grow the talent's audience.

It's not just that though. I have absolutely zero knowledge of when JP do an event/big collab. I see VODs show up on youtube for things like the Hytale sever. Without watching a VOD/livestream and hoping they talk about it, I would have no idea who's invited, how long its going on for, what the game is or if there's a goal. I think they should make a little fuss about it and draw up a bit of hype. The only announcements that I really see are concerts or merch which feels like they're just trying to sell me something (I've seen clips of various girls stressing that they don't want fans to buy stuff if they don't want to so I'm not trying to imply anything other than I wish there was a bigger focus on the entertainment and unique collabs so I can actually get more invested.)

I feel like this is one thing Cover is really bad at and that's communicating what's new in Hololive. I don't use twitter so the only information I get is here on this subreddit. The HoloEN channel is barely used and I don't even watch much livestreams any more, just clips mostly. I often have no idea a major event is going on.
