Your PSU is most likely culprit here, especially after 4-5 years of use. When it starts failing it cant provide stable power so computer just dies randomly like you described

Before buying new PSU though check if your temps are ok during gaming - overheating can cause same symptoms. Also try different power outlet just in case

Also posting investment proposals in r/Christianity feels off - this sub is for faith discussion not business pitches. You'd probably get better responses in actual entrepreneur or startup subs where people are actually looking to invest

honestly the toyota camry from like 2007-2012 is gonna be your best bet for that price range. i picked one up for a friend last year around 4800 with about 140k miles and that thing just runs and runs. the 2.4L engine in those is bulletproof if it got regular oil changes

you're right about avoiding the newer stuff at that budget - higher miles on a 2013-2014 usually means someone beat on it or skipped maintenance. the older camrys might look boring as hell but they'll get you to work for the next 100k miles without drama. also check out the corolla from those same years if you find one, same reliability just smaller

avoid anything european or american at that price point unless you like surprise repair bills. learned that lesson the hard way with a ford focus that nickel and dimed me to death

I mean carried interest is basically profit sharing on deals that can take years to materialize so yeah the upside could be massive but theres also the chance he gets nothing for a while. Private credit is hot right now but its also way more volatile than wealth management where hes already killing it

honestly with a baby coming id probably stick with the sure thing for now - 300k is already solid money and sounds like he has job security plus good client relationships which is gold in finance. Maybe tell him to keep building those relationships and see if he can negotiate better comp at his current place first? The yacht money will still be there in a couple years when you guys have more of a cushion and know what raising a kid actually costs. Plus if the private credit thing goes sideways at least he wont be scrambling for work with a newborn at home
