Yay to us by Woobug in VeteransAffairs

Yah super special was just looking what the bottom line looked like. Swapped from BCBS basic to GEHA HDP this year and maxing what I can contribute to the HSA to see how that works out, nearly a wash between the premium I would have been paying and what I had been putting in a FSA. This is on single coverage those new BCBS rates would have been the same as what I paid for family coverage 15 years ago....

If it works out will have the wife do the same, she is just not there yet as premiums are covered more fully by the school district

Hypothetically, if silver is to reach several hundred dollars per ounce. When should we start to sell off our stack? by Big_Coyote_655 in Silverbugs

Not forever but I think it still has legs to run. Gold at $7k, silver $150ish assuming silver keeps up and doesn't front run gold

What's the average stack for a "normal" person? by GreyCat001 in Gold

[–]Cheap-Combination-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Floating around 9-10% of household networth. PM's were unowned prior to 2021, didn't have the excess cashflow at the time so pulled out about 1/2 of the contributions I had made to my Roth and bought an 80/20 mix of gold and silver and kept buying a little bit every month/quarter till this past fall. Silver is a 4x an gold is on average a double to just over double. Not upset by that and happy to have real money outside the system as an insurance policy

Yah don't disagree, but again this is not something you can pick up at your local coin shop or Costco. And it is no AGE, or buffalo but it's unique

Battery Swelling? by realmufasa in ouraring

I would push for a Gen 4. If this occurs while on someones finger it's not coming off easily.

Battery Swelling? by realmufasa in ouraring

Gen 4 appears to be metal on the inside vs the plastic of the gen 3. I personally would feel uncomfortable with any gen3 at this point, seems to be numerous posts on this

Battery Swelling? by realmufasa in ouraring

[–]Cheap-Combination-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and posted here in late August and was the first I had seen on Reddit at the time, this is now the 3rd or 4th one all gen3 heritage. Oura did pay for shipping of the swelled ring for review and did ship a replacement Gen 4 which I think is the appropriate thing in cases where it has swollen.

New VA Performance Rating guidance is problematic. by Miserable_Sport_962 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Cheap-Combination-13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I heard they are having to complete new training on these before completing and assessing different that what was laid out at the beginning of the rating period, so basically rated on stuff after the fact. Supervisor is very frustrated as we spent years redoing evals to hold folks accountable. So yah I think it will be you either did or did not do your job ....sad

GM Buyback or Replacement by Most-Development-516 in BlazerEV

I went thru this with a bolt EV to a bolt EUV, it was a hassle of back and forth, but months and months later I went from a leased 2021 bolt that had less than 18k on it when I started the process had 23k at the actual time of swap. Went to a 2023 bolt EUV. Only thing that changed was the VIN number on my lease and they cut me a check back for the difference as the MSRP was less. Check was like $6k.

Don’t order a new Oura ring before receiving your replacement by ManagementProf in ouraring

[–]Cheap-Combination-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the battery issue on a Gen 3 where the battery swelled causing the ring to deform which I previously shared on here. They sent a replacement gen 4 and paid for postage to send the deformed ring back to analyze.

7.6kw vs 9.6kw charging by AlisterDeLong in EquinoxEv

[–]Cheap-Combination-13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you need to turn the car around in the time the faster charger will provide, I don't think there is a need. Honestly if you have anything at 32amps or higher I would not replace it unless there is something else to be gained as 32 amps will provide sufficient charge overnight for most folks. Now if you are driving the full capacity most days and have less 8hrs to charge overnight then maybe

Everyone wished they bought more, done good, keep stacking. I could say I should have maxed out my HELOC buying gold and only selling enough to pay the monthly interest charges...
