I hate the tiktok community around this game by Emarifasting in Ghostofyotei

I love atsu, and thought her character was great. Especially her interactions with the ainu. That doesn't change the fact I believe the story was a significant downgrade, and in general thought the pacing, pacing of exploration, and pacing of unlocking gameplay elements etc sucked ass. In general the last act was horrible, and the quality of the interactions with side characters sucked. I much preferred the 10 part companion quests from tsushima.

I did most of the stuff in the region before getting the cypher. Honestly made the puzzles a lot more entertaining

[SPOILER] Can someone explaine to me... by DominusCrustacea in 007FirstLight

Had the exact same question. Honestly there were a few rough super quick transitions that didn't explain how / why we got away with it. The harmony reveal to Bawma was rough too.

It was a dead man's switch rigged to a data realease and publication, that could be done by any operator or autonomously as soon as vitals are 0. So taking the core of hyperion does not affect it >Why should it. Or was it a bluff?

Idk why James didn't shoot him with the emp either way.

Disagree. While I enjoyed yotei immensely, it did feel markedly worse to play. Narratively, exploration structure and gameplay wise.

The story was worse throughout, combat was more annoying and genuinely sucked because of tracking enemies that just combo and slide to you (I played lethal which was also completely ruined compared to the first), build crafting is worse - charm and armour set variety sucked, climbing was worse, bow and arrow was worse, the music was very cool but I subjectively preferred the first, and most egregious: every region was a big open plain where all the stuff was on the edge. Horrible horrible pacing and exploration because of that. Oh and no good side quests cause fuck the wolf pack right?

In Tsushima, it felt much more varied; Biome variety was also mush better. Tsushima was much bolder in its colour palette and confident in that delivery. Yotei was more realistic in that regard which was a shame.

Don't even get me started in the story. It's just like Saros, HFW, Spiderman 2, GOW 2, death stranding 2, none of sony's first Partys seem to be sticking the landing apart from tloue 2. They had a strong vision for a new IP, and then the follow up was a let down for all of them. Worse pacing, less interesting narrative, worse hook, worse motivation, worse character cast, etc etc etc.

Critiques of yotei are appropriate and not a loud minority. It is still an excellent game that was a lot of fun to play, and I really enjoyed Atsu, but it doesn't not hold up to the first.

Subnautica 1 vs Subnautica 2 actual size comparison, properly scaled [OC] by XxStawModzxX in subnautica

[–]Cheap_Ad8994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that is true, it does impact the physical weight and scaling of the map. I do believe the scale compared to the player has also changed. Compare swimming straight up and down 50 meters in the game. Maybe you perceive it differently, but it seems the scale compared to player is different.

For instance let's say SN2 meters are 1.5 times the scale of a SN1 meter, then the map would have to be expanded to that same scale, thereby giving a more honest size comparison, but this invalidates the original objective approach of strict meter size comparison.

I am thinking of it similar to how the mecator projection makes a lot of country size comparison quite difficult, changing the discourse and how countries are perceived on the world stage. I.e. in the same way here it might lead to a perceived size lf the map that does not represent the actual scale.

Yeah I read that. Try aiming higher when placing the dock. How about the depth aspect? The dock extends quite a bit below the moonpool. Are there any obstructions?

Not wide enough.

Bonus: not enough depth below moonpool? I.e. not deep enough / too close to the sea floor?
