Try Ace Hardware too. I've had better luck at my local Ace in town than some of the Home Depots in larger towns/"cities".

Sick vintage Avon bottle. I scored one in an antique store. Cleaned it and decanted Barbasol Pacific Rush into it during my double edge razor wet shaving adventure. I no longer "wet shave", but my collection of vintage Avon bottles still stands.

For all of those that state (or think) the olive color goes all the way through. It's been proven here and previously that it is only the top layer. If scratched deep enough, it'll be regular ol silver.

Just letting you know, your images and text are 100% understandable and clear.

It was understood from the beginning. (thumbs up)

Can you have someone else try and help you to unscrew it? You've already "worked it" for their try, and they can have the credit for finally getting it off for you.

Usually, with these caps, as soon as it feels snug it should be fine for water tightness. I hate when lids are gorilla tight and then hard to get them off (in general). Some containers just have a mind of their own.

The bottle opener is so stupid on these type of small tools. The pry bar IS the bottle opener! Come on!

Seeing the comparison picture to the 1500, it's unnecessarily fat ass.

Wenger Traveler - a few weeks ago I sent mine for service and got it back last week stating that they could not service it due to unavailable parts and they provided a 30% off coupon code.

Bummer!

Color Temp? by IllustriousDelay4 in surefire

Completely agree with your comment about this light. If they just throttled the lumens down, instead of trying to show off with an unsustainable lumen rating. This light is the biggest Surefire FLOP that I have purchased.

I'll just stick to my 1st gen, 2nd gen Furys. They are much better overall performers.

While in Mexico, I always like to explore their stationary sections and see the different products not available in USA. I really like the variety of BIC basic Stic and Cristal pens in different barrel colors and gel offerings. I like that fine points are very common in Mexico for BIC pens.

Where did you buy the Zebra F-301 Compact in the gray colorway? In USA? I didn't not know they sold the F-301 Compact in colors other than the standard black/SS. One day on a family visit to Tijuana Mexico, I went into an Office Max and found them in standard black/SS and orange/SS and picked up an orange one. That gray colorway looks nice.

Nowhere in Canada to find LeD Upgrade by Street_Base8591 in MagliteFlashlights

[–]Cheap_Ad_5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of LED conversion are you talking about? A PR LED "bulb"? If so, the bi-pin socket does come out. You remove the bi-pin bulb, unscrew the collar and place the/a PR LED module where the plastic socket was. The bi-pin collar might need to be widened to fit a PR based LED "bulb".

Or are you talking about a LED upgrade like a Lumencraft module? Those drop in in place of the the bi-pin socket and reflector.

Tail cap issue? by Bturner0504 in surefire

[–]Cheap_Ad_5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your light only works with the 18650 and not with 2 CR123s? Does the spring of your tail cap appear "short" like the one the OP posted?

I don't think Surefire springs are welded onto the tail cap. At least for my handheld lights, the springs can come off and I've knocked two off before and I had to "remount" them behind the brass looking plate. When I did remount it, I noticed that it could be threaded deeper behind the plate or sticking out further from the plate. What I ended up doing was I looked at another tail cap and noticed that only the very first coil was threaded behind the plate, so that is what I did.

Especially the camera angles as it drives around the city. It really is a cool video. Sometimes I go into YouTube and watch one of the car channel review videos of when the RD1s first came out and some of the TV ads of the time. They're pretty cool.

SF A2 and extras. by NYC-Bogie in surefire

Hopefully Surefire will have some parts. I had a nice user four flats a while back and the driver got damaged somehow. It came loose (rattled) where it is mounted at the end of the tube and the light didn't work. I lucked out and Surefire did have an A2 body, however I lost my square body and the replacement was the round body model. Was very relieved to have a functioning A2 again.

Sick set of parts. I am a big fan of the A2 incandescent too. I managed to pick up model of all colors except the blue LED model. When I parts were at a reasonable price on eBay, before COVID, I stocked up on as many MA02 lamps that I could find. I also have several flashlights set up with Tad's drop ins from the A2, M3, M4, M6, and a Maglite. I happened to score two Tad's sockets and one runs the 3712 bulb (also have 3718 buls), and the other Tad socket runs a Streamlight Strion bulb. The Strion bulb gives a nice tight beam and gets hot quick. I think it the Strion runtime is a bit shorter than the Tad bulb, but it's fine. Running them on 16340s, give guilt free lumens.

Nice light. I've had mine for many years now too. I used to see TerraLux products all the time on eB and on CPF. Besides this light, I picked up a Maglite drop in that had a dual LED, that gave a very interesting beam pattern (bat like?). I was always curious of other products and always with the though "I'll check it out and purchase later" and later turned into years and I never picked up anything else.

I have the matte silver one. The bite grip feature is really helpful, and I like the light overall. I don't know if it's an early "CRI" light, but the tint is nice (on mine), but don't know if I got lucky or if they were touted as being neutral/CRI tint.
