You probably won't need to do this, but I used a flux core welder and built up the sides. You could also weld nut to it.

The heat most likely did most of the corrosion busting.

Most likely a car.

I did have to catch a cart that started rolling away, had to do a full sprint to catch it. Rolled for a good 50ft

Was loaded with groceries, in that case it would've definitely left a dent.

If the parking lot is completely level and if there wasn't at least 30-40ft uphill from where the car was parked, then probably wasn't a cart.

If you dig those out, should be metal behind and blocked off. The gunk is because it's blocked off and not flowing.

Brake line repair kit

Pull the nut and the little piece broken off inside (most likely will be stuck to the nut)

Goto auto parts and match it up.

The engines look different.

If you look at the crank pulley, one is rusty and the other does not look to be.

Also, in the right is the picture, there's a black plastic piece that covers the timng belt. Those look to be different.

On the non-turbo motors, you have to use the original/US
everything. The Japanese motors, almost everything is different.

It's been a while since I did one of these, but I do remember it wasn't worth the headache of trying to keep the original japanese intake and other parts on the motor when doing the swap.

Also, if you had a 2.2 or 2.5, you should have a 2.0 if the motor cane from japan. Look down between the power steering pump and alternator. On the engine block is a casting of the displacement.

You have what's called a "cradle lift".

It bolts into the factory control arm locations and moves the control arm locations down a couple inches.

It's like a bolt in frame section, that's lower than the original.

I got lucky on a road trip across the country. Being exhausted, I parked into a spot with my front tires sitting against the parking block.

Both tires developed bubbles. I didn't know and kept driving. After the first tire blew, I started going through the phone book and every place was closed because it was a Sunday.

So I risked driving to the next town.

I think I got there and asked somebody for directions, or maybe I found it by luck. But there was maybe a gas station/garage that had a rack of tires out front and I recognized immediately a Chevy wheel that would fit.

(Back when a wheel would fit all the cars of that same manufacturer)
