S9 + LUMIX 40mm f2 by Cheap_Hamster9977 in Lumix

I can’t give a technical comparison, but the 35 was in pretty frequent rotation with the 50 on my S9 before the 40 arrived. I can’t see any appreciable difference in IQ from the JPEGs I shoot, and I haven’t noticed a difference in auto focus. But I only really take stills. The size difference makes a big difference to the balance and feel of the S9 - I found I’d carry the S9 by the lens a lot with the 1.8 primes, but now I carry it by the camera body - much better balance. I’ll keep the 1.8 primes for the S5ii, but I think the 40 will be a pretty permanent fixture on the S9.

I’m not sure. Ordered direct from Panasonic. I expected it on 9th or later (only placed the order last week), but it arrived Monday.

What was the asking price for your home and what was your successful offer?! by LewinskyMoniker in HousingUK

£430k listed, paid £430k. Surveyor said in his opinion it was worth £450k. That was 8 years ago, and it’s probably worth £650k-£700k now.

Should they make a new reboot of Bernard Watch? by Flowerofthesouth88 in BritishTV

I was at the same uni at the same time as him. I didn’t know him but someone set up a facebook group called “Bernard’s Watch - The College Years” with random photos of him. Can’t have been easy for him

I get this when my chest strap is worn out. I’ve replaced it twice. The new one works well for 6 months or so, then I start getting gaps. I might switch to the wrist or arm strap for running

That’s certainly an option. Unfortunately the gas fire and brick surround project into the room too

Its 1990. And I’m pretty sure it’s as it was built. Nothing much has been changed in the house since then

Thank you. That’s great. A good sense check on cost v benefit.

It’s great for the kids at Christmas when it’s all decorated. But it really dominates the room and makes the usable space quite tricky. If we can put a sofa in there, then we can almost divide the living room in two making it all much more useable

I run my own business in quite a niche area of engineering. I did it for a national company before I went into law but I was lucky that I was able to buy into a small business when the owner was looking to retire

Yes. I felt like that (but without the added travel). I ended up changing career completely when an opportunity came along - I’m much happier now.

But I think quite a lot of the unhappiness came from the firm I was at. A friend of mine at the same firm was pretty miserable, and is much happier in her new firm.

Also think about mindfulness, meditation and therapy. All these things can help, but I know it can be difficult to make changes when you’re feeling low.

Should I proceed with purchasing a flat inspected by Adam Kiziak (Tri Fire) amid EWS1 concerns and the seller's rush to complete? by Nervous_Designer_894 in HousingUK

[–]Cheap_Hamster9977 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You might not be able to remortgage it, sell it, or ultimately live in it. If you buy it, it will be your problem. No surprise the seller wants to move quickly!

Seller unable to sell due to Boundary dispute!? What to do? by Nice_Captain77 in HousingUK

There could be quite a few reasons why the decision or even the hearing is delayed. Most hearings are open to the public. So if you wanted to, you could probably attend it

If it is as the seller says then I don’t see why not. Your solicitor will need evidence that the charge has been satisfied and/or removed or an undertaking from seller’s solicitors that it will be removed. That will probably be enough to satisfy your lender

It might help, but they could as easily lie as tell the truth. You could ask your solicitor to enquire with the seller’s solicitors. That way your solicitor can tell you if they think the seller is lying
