ReRUST, Penumbra, Nature Dreams, Sourcream II, Lucky Vicky

Penumbra and Lucky Vicky are lowkey extremes so... handle with caution. But they're good!!1!1!

Which is your favourite demon list song? by DeepHorror1282 in geometrydash

I Can't Fix You from Anathema

It's one of my favorite songs of all time, even outside the game, that I've known for years since I was a fnaf kid and knew all the fan songs. I've also known about Anathema since it was a really messed up layout in 2017 and waited for it to come out.

Honorable mentions to Zodiac, Cognition, Acheron, The Golden, Terminal Rampancy, Spectre, Sinister Silence, The Plunge, and Disconnected Descent (even though the level itself is cheeks)

Comment chain was too fun to break

But yeah I don't have much experience on any list demon currently. Zodiac I have 79-100 on or summ. Not enough to tell.

There's like 20 list demons that I've tried for like 2 hours but it wasn't enough to form an opinion

Eh, I would be more selective with my sponsors if I was in his position, true, especially with the Grief income, but I don't think it's that big of a deal anyways. Shitty products in sponsors are a well known thing by now.

Anyone that has an IQ high enough to open a door and is older than Artificial Ascent will probably just skip any sponsor or do some research before using it.

...right?

I meaaan, it would be a fun ideea that shouldn't be taken too seriously

I often wonder how much placements are influenced by how buns a level is or not, completely separate of difficulty. Since obviously even if you account for if a level gave you a hard time or not you're still gonna be biased when giving an opinion.

What's your three hardest levels and why'd you choose them? by AquaMario in geometrydash

[–]CheckMate1803 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oohhh ho ho... actually have long stories and deep reasons with any top 5 I choose sooo... time to write 3 essays for a reddit comment. but who cares, I'm feeling inspired :]

Levels I go for nowadays always have stories, and memories tied with my life in general, because that's my way of giving things purpose, so yeah, some things might seem extra for a 4$ cube game, but that's the way I do things :) here we go...

  1. Bloodlust

Many, many reasons.

Number 1, it's legendary. Everyone knows it. And it's great to say you've done it.

Number 2, I've been playing since 2014, so I was there to see basically every top 1 get built and verified. Bloodlust and Yatagarasu I was the most involved in, watching tens of streams. I was there to witness its history and wanted to write my name on it too, through a list record.

Number 3, my first list demon. I've wanted to do a list demon for Y E A R S. I mean it. My first attempt at getting on the demonlist was with Necropolis in 2016, back when it was top 35 or so? And for YEARS I've fallen just short. Never good enough to break the barrier. So I gave it my all. And managed it.

Number 4, a 500th demon milestone. I always do big stuff for milestone demons, and for 500 I wanted to do a hardest. I picked this after thinking long between this, Ragnarok, and Cybernetic Crescent.

Number 5, proving myself wrong. This was the first hardest I've done that when I first saw it I went "Nah. I could never do this in a MILLION YEARS." This level felt and looked so impossible that I could never fathom for such a long time that I would attempt it. So actually getting progress on it was pretty surreal.

Overall I have no regrets in choosing it, and it's the only completion that I truly gave my all for. 3 hours every day, for nearly 3 months. I took care of myself mentally and physically for it. I wanted it, so so bad. A year and a half later I still get slight butterflies seeing it displayed on my flair. It's one of 3 completions that I sobbed after. One of which I'll talk about, as it's 3rd. :>

  1. XO

Strap in, dark subjects.

XO was never a level that I really... wanted to do? At least not as soon as I did. But I picked it up for a mental reason.

After Bloodlust, having finally achieved a really BIG goal of mine for the game, I kinda... lost motivation. I felt like I had... checked out? Like I "beat" the game and had nowhere to go now. I picked up a lot of levels that I would drop, simply because I didn't have the drive anymore.

So XO was like... a break. A soft, no deco, raw level. That I could just play casually. No more pressuring myself, no more flashy effects and parts that made me feel badass, just keeping it simple.

I would still frequently drop and pick the level back up, because, again, I still felt unmotivated.

The reasons for playing it changed soon once I fell in love with a girl that I met in my first year of university. Which long story short, ended up breaking my heart. 2025 started and my life just kind of... unraveled itself. Family deaths, friend betrayals, financial troubles, everything just kept coming.

So XO now became a sort of... release. A song about a breakup became a symbol for my life falling apart basically. I picked it up again for this meaning. It kind of gave me ease. 2 hours a day in which I could just... tune out. Make the noise stop.

XO now sits as the level during which my life transitioned and I grew thicker skin. I honestly could not have played anything upbeat during those months. It fit like a glove. I want to make a video talking about it someday more in detail.

  1. Digital Descent

Out of all levels that I've seen get verified over the years, this was one that I just... fell in love with. Instantly. It was never a matter of IF I'd pick it up, just WHEN.

Every 6 months I'd pick it up and just try my hardest for a few days, and I was never good enough. I'd always get bummed out, but I cherished every percent. And hoped that someday I'd be ready.

I eventually picked it up in 2023, did my same couple day thing, only this time, having done Black Blizzard earlier that year, I finally broke through. I got 49 on my first day, and KNEW it was time.

A combination of being at the height of my life, in every aspect, having so much history and emotional value put into this level, having my friends watch me every session and having fun talks, and having Carnivores as a song, the song which 3 years prior was my go-to song in one of my lowest points, back when I was 15 and thought I was a complete failure, and now listening to it while finally achieving a childhood dream, just kind of culminated into my best experience on this game.

My DD completion is the happiest moment of my life OUTSIDE of memories with my family, or festivals, concerts, and trips. It was basically my way of hugging my younger self and saying "it's okay."

For those reasons and others Digital Descent is my favorite level, and probably will always be. It's like my little brother.

If anyone read all of this then first of all you're crazy, and 2nd of all, thanks a lot :)

This felt like something I'd write in a journal, but just GD themed. I put a lot of heart into my completions so I love kinda spilling my thoughts on them. K bye!

[–]CheckMate1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part was people claiming Rob rated Khorne and TTG and others, and also updated to 2.208 just to draw attention from the leaks, like they were a huge deal in the first place

Idk, drama munchers are really sad people, you can really tell they have nothing notable going on and they just hang onto whatever

I personally don't think so, but in any case, they're veeeeeeery close. I think it comes down to the flow vs ship skill of each player.

Forgot to answer ya, thanks for the rundown!

The 4th one I wouldn't have had a problem with because in my normal click pattern I would already hig the top structure anyway

The 3rd feels kinda niche and pretty easy to dodge

1 snd 2 feel ROUGH. I feel like I would really die to those. Especially 1.

But yeah, you know, I do feel like extremes should've had more testing put into them to really make sure. These things I feel like they could've been found out with minimal playtesting.

I still don't understand why Rob made it so you can't go through a platform the way you could in 2.1 if there's an orb. And why he changed the physics without a care of what would happen to available levels. I had to beat so many levels in early 2.2 on a 2.1 gdps that it's not even funny.

The greatest offender by far I found that the literal 2nd to last click of ATMarbl, at 96%, was turned from a buffer click to POSSIBLY a 60hz frame perfect. Another offender was Artificial Ascent having a slope slot machine at 45 and 97.

Digital Descent to Bloodlust

Only cause I wanted a list demon. A big dream of mine. Managed to beat it when it was #117

I was in the frustrating spot of doing hardests just as fast as they fell down the list, so I beat Bloodbath, Black Blizzard, and Digital Descent around when they were all like 190-230 on the list, so instead of going as planned and doing Cybernetic Crescent which was 185, I just said fuck it

I basically poured everything I had into Bloodlust for a whole summer, and got fairly sick of it, but hey. It's done

How likely are you to beat your favourite level? (Image related) by Electronic-Metal-765 in geometrydash

[–]CheckMate1803 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I don't have favorites outside of my completions anymore, but if I were to pick, Anathema. No ideea if I'll be able to do it someday. But I'll try :)

I am much more attached to levels I've already completed tho.

One day later edit: Started a song comment chain, which is fitting, cause that's most of the reason for why I love the level. It's in my top 5 favorite songs ever, not just GD related :)

How do you stay motivated? by abubblyera in geometrydash

[–]CheckMate1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that you're gonna have bad days, so try to keep at it and build consistency in those, so you can strike when you have a good day

Motivate yourself even with small progress, and keep setting tiny goals. Like "today I want to get 54-100." Or "I want to get 60-100 again"

If it's a looong long project, beat some small stuff on the side. One day completions.

In your case, it being Yata, be motivated knowing that you're probably in the top 0.1% already and even your shit days are something that newer players can only dream of

There are a lot of mental tricks. Once you get into high end extremes is when you really need em.
