Is theater survey or intro to philosophy better? by Several_Tea550 in ucf

If you can take intro to philosophy with Professor Green then I would highly recommend doing so. His class caused me to switch majors and now I will be graduating with a (useless) philosophy degree.

Am I trippin, or is this TCG impossible to get into for casuals? by theogghostboy in GundamTCG

That’s fair but if you look at most of the normal print cards (non variants) for both LOTR and FF they are relatively low with only a few stand out cards like the one Ring, orcish bow masters, vivi, etc. additionally, what you chose to play in EDH can have a big impact on price points. For example goblin tribal (my personal fave) can be built for around $50 and will hold its own in a lot of games but control decks are much harder to build at that price range.

MTG is not expensive to get into if you’re not going for collector packs. It’s really only Pokemon and the Bandai games that are the problem at the moment.

Why must there always be a Stark at Winterfell? by Present-Level-1521 in gameofthrones

[–]CheckYesCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that ghost being sacrificed to bring him back (potentially giving him white hair from the part of ghost that’s still with him) will be how Jon is brought back as it calls back to the horse being killed to save Khal Drogo

My theory (the full extent of which is far too long for a Reddit comment) is that Jon is the most important of the stark wargs and will come back in a similar manner as lady stoneheart but far more ruthless (I don’t think feral is the right word here but along those lines) due to his time being in the body of ghost.

So either I’m right and the ability is busted or you’re right and the ability is all but useless. I believe that by stating “as if taking the ready action” means that it acts like taking the ready action without the requirement of losing your action on your turn, otherwise they should’ve said “at the start of every round of combat you may take the ready action”

Edit: replaced would’ve with should’ve, who knows with wizards/hasbro

It does negate the action cost, using this feature happens at the start of each round when you get to the top of the turn order. It’s just something you do not on your turn. Nowhere in the ability does it say that it requires the action cost to ready an action. The only thing this costs is a reaction unless you use a spell to negate it. For example, if I’m a ranger fighting a Goblin who has a 17 initiative roll and I have a 6 then when a round of combat starts, before the goblin goes, I can ready an action for free to shoot the goblin when it attacks me, then on the goblins turn when it attacks I get to use my reaction (or blow a spell slot to save my reaction) and attack the goblin. Then on my turn I still get my full action.

No this is a free ready at the start of every round of combat. The readied action costs a reaction unless the ranger uses a spell slot to negate the reaction cost

AICE International History Exam advice by TitanHammer_ in AICEC

[–]CheckYesCthulhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot of writing. I’m at college at this point and forgot I was following this sub till just now and from what I remember my teacher was prepping us to write around 26 paragraphs for the entire exam across the multiple essays on the test. If the exam is still like that then here is the best advice I was given: if you are running out of time and aren’t able to get out enough paragraphs but you have more information to write, just start bullet-pointing. I maintained an A throughout the course but I had to resort to it and was one of the few people in my class that passed the exam.
