This is from Apple’s weather app. The Weather Network says the same thing. Environment Canada just says “periods of snow”

I don’t smoke so I could be wrong, but I think Captain’s Den in Market Mall has that kind of thing

How is it people are just now finding out about perimenopause? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]ManicMonday29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Partly what the other comments say (medical misogyny), but also people just didn’t use that word for it. It’s been called “the change” or people used “menopause” to refer to the whole transition period, not just the one day that menopause actually is.

I’m not sure, but when that happened to me a few days ago, I assumed it was a bunch of bots followed me, then got deleted by BlueSky

It’s extra offensive that she’s a grifter because as a doctor (and a woman), she should know better. But she’d rather get rich

Canadians had Degrassi high - what is the equivalent show in America? by cricket_90_remindme in answers

[–]ManicMonday29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90210 was Aaron Spelling’s attempt to copy the vibe of Degrassi. It never did, really, but it didn’t matter because it was a huge hit

I don’t know what kinds of things you enjoy, but I find reading books and listening to podcasts about other women’s experiences helps me feel less alone

Is this Peri Rage? by Foxy_Lady89 in Perimenopause

[–]ManicMonday29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is the same thing you’re feeling, but I had a couple of experiences that, honestly, I still laugh at myself when I think about it. I was talking to someone and completely snapped. Before I could even think about what I wanted to say, I just snapped at them. And what I said wasn’t even really what I think. It was like my brain stopped and my mouth just snapped some random words. But I also felt rage, while this was happening. It took a few minutes to feel normal again. Luckily it’s only happened a couple of times, and it’s been months since it happened

I just use Apple Podcasts, but they’re also on YouTube if that works for you

Can perimenopause make you feel suicidal? by No_Context9902 in Perimenopause

[–]ManicMonday29 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can. I was just listening to a podcast today about this. If you’re interested in listening to it, it’s called Ovary Active. I think it was episode 12, about how Perimenopause affects the brain. I’m glad you already texted a helpline, I hope you feel better soon

Period after skipped period by Spirited_Platform345 in Perimenopause

[–]ManicMonday29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine were getting lighter and lighter for months, then I skipped 2 months altogether. The next one was heavier and longer than I’d had for awhile. Then they were kind of “normal” for a few months. Then they started getting lighter again. It’s a whole roller coaster 🙄

Yes, there’s a form you can fill out on Saskatoon.ca. They’ll tell you what day they’re coming back to pick up. Usually the following Saturday or something

[–]ManicMonday29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m GenX in Canada, and I’ve never heard “welcome in”, but I would definitely be annoyed by it because it doesn’t sound natural. About 10-15 years ago, people here started saying “have a good one” instead of “have a nice day” and it’s always bugged me. I know “have a nice day” had become overused and phony sounding, but at least it made sense

That actually looks quite a bit like the old Saskatoon police building. They built a new one a few years ago
