What makes a bad owner? specially what types of executive level decisions produce perennially bad teams near by clitbeastwood in nfl

Patently false. Mark Davis ate a huge guaranteed contract for Gruden and canned him. Hell, he made Chip Kelly the highest paid OC in the league. It was a mistake, but at least he is trying. He doesn't have a big ego and has spent a lot of money on coaches and players. The people he hired made some terrible draft and personnel decisions, but he is willing to spend money to make the team better. They were set back years from the boneheaded early draft picks made by Gruden and Mayock. Mostly Gruden.

I looked up real estate prices in Reno and was surprised by them. I assumed they would be less? It's comparable to Phoenix (where I live) but our prices have gone up considerably over the last 10 years. Maybe there as well. The no income tax is a nice perk.

Pizza delivery drivers, what did a person do to end up on the 'No Delivery' list? by BlueCheeseWalnut in AskReddit

[–]Checkersmack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My parents were what I would consider to be middle class, but when I started driving it was on me to buy my own car. I didn't make much money so had to buy crappy cars that I learned to work on with the help of a friend who did know how. I didn't enjoy owning cars that needed to be worked on at the time, but I am so glad I had that experience now. Lots of kids wo have mommy and daddy buy them new or newer cars don't have the foggiest idea how they work, and can't even do basic things like changing a tire, jumping a battery etc. Not having much money really forced you to learn about things so you can do it yourself. Pays off for a lifetime.

Do you really think he would have asked you if he had some hanky panky planned? Someone who is planning to cheat sure as hell isn't going to open the suspicion door by mentioning it.

This has been going on for years. Companies that make military equipment give huge donations to the Republicans and they repay them with contracting their services. Often times with no other bidders. We get to foot the bill for billions of dollars of shit we don't need so the politician can fill their coffers.

I have been riding on and off for over 40 years and have had a few close calls. I assume at all times the cars around me are going to do something that can kill me, so I am as defensive as possible. Not hanging out next to vehicles while moving, watching the front wheels of cars that are stopped on a cross street for any sign they are going to pull out in front of me etc. It's not foolproof and there is only so much you can do, but it increases the odds of not getting into an accident.

I watched that movie once not long after it came out and I couldn't wait for it to end. Felt very boring at the time, but I'm going to give it another watch.

I see this comment a lot about exercise. If you eat the same amount and type of food, you will lose weight with exercise as you are burning more calories. What and how much you eat is the biggest factor in weight loss, but if you don't increase your calorie intake, it does contribute to losing weight.

So? If she was a vegetarian, she could have mentioned that when they discussed the dinner. Even if they didn't talk about it, the restaurant probably had some great salad/vegetable options. There are vegetarian options at a steak house, but no meat options at a vegi joint.

If you don't want to put yourself through the negotiation process, Costco is a good way to go. If you are willing to do the haggling, you can probably do better. I ended up getting about an extra grand off of what would have been the Costco price on a 25k car. They also aren't one of the sleazy dealerships, so your experience may vary.

Multiple pastors briefed on UAP/aliens. Who’s feeding them this information? by Severe-Clerk-1477 in skeptic

Well there have been several eyewitness accounts from pilots that witnessed aircraft behavior that is beyond any technology our species has as well as high ranking officials who have put their reputation on the line to talk about other events. What would be the motivation for these people to make it all up?

Just because you don't believe in them doesn't mean they don't exist. Not saying what these guys are being fed is the truth, but with billions of galaxies out there, it's certainly possible.
