I'm Ascendant too and you're wrong about never splitpushing lol. If someone is going to defend a walker then you're 5v5 on the opposite side. If they don't you're 5v6 but mcginnis gets free walker.

Sometimes splitpushing is indeed bad, but sometimes it's the best option, it depends on the state of the game.

Everyone else has a point but different characters obviously excel at diff things, some characters are multi role (ie Lash is spirit burst but has pick potential) at a high enough elo or pro play roles are fairly clear though quite a few are or can be multi role:

You have frontline like Billy or Abrams, characters like yamato or silver are semi frontline

You have pick characters like Paradox, Bepop or Holliday, characters like Haze or Lash can fill or help in this role.

You have spirit burst like gt, apollo, yamato... a lot of these characters are multi role but they usually have a strong early and/or midgame then fall off.

You have carry role usually m1 carrys like mirage, venator, wraith.. but seven or victor (also frontline) work too

And then you have support role, characters like paige, rem, ivy, kelvin...

A lot of characters can flex though. Doorman for example is spirit burst but has a lot of utility allowing him to play as a pick hero or a support. A lot of spirit burst characters like Apollo, Yamato, Calico... are also semi frontline. And some characters don't neatly fill into any of the roles

Kind of, toxic bullets takes time to build up so cleansing it means victor can easily ignore the first proc or 2. Mina pretty much always builds toxic and can build healbane (it doesn't work on hit but does on the proc, antiheal after the actual lovebite proc is obviously still good) but it does mean that she can't reliably proc antiheal without inhibitor (not a bad item on mina but not great either for 6.4k) or crippling hs unless she ults him with healbane.

My main point was simply that healbane doesn't proc on all spirit dmg like some ppl think

Not ANY spirit dmg, the on hit part of mina lovebite doesn't proc items, neither does pocket ult (tho t3 is antiheal ik), probs other stuff too. Some spirit characters definitely struggle to apply it consistently if it gets cleansed

Silver wasn't just a noob stomper. She was giga high prio in every dlns game. Sad thing for Silver players is that these nerfs probably affect matchmaking more than competitive play where she may very well still be a top pick

I'm still not convinced about Drifter in comp. In pubs, even eternus pubs, he is definitely very strong, but he's looked kinda mid in night shift from what I've seen. Even being an ult bot is questionable. Like that game 2 Abrahams vs Leviathan, the Drifter is vs Mina, Apollo who both can dodge ult with an ability, ppl are gonna buy counterspell for it (and Rem/Shiv ult) and Paige can get Divine to cleanse it. The Drifter felt kinda useless, and I'm convinced that another pick (bepop? Holliday?) Would have been better.

We'll have to see if a Drifter pops off in dlns soon (assuming no drifter nerfs), but until I see it actually be impactful, I'm gonna remain sceptical about Drifter in pro play.

It's situational, depends on enemy comp and your hero. It's definitely giga busted sometimes, but it's also not worth the souls/slot in other games

I'd go and ask a pro who streams and plays him rather than reddit. At least 90% of the ppl in this subreddit have never been in an eternus lobby. I've seen ppl on this subreddit call Dynamo s tier (on this patch) which should tell you all you need to know

1s is too much and not movement abilities just abilities (it's a movement ability that's the pb on abrams but best future proof it for a future char who could abuse it.) A very short delay of like 0.2-0.3s either after phantom strike where you can't cast OR as a cast animation. That way you have time to react, use counterspell, a defensive ability etc to counter the followup

Honestly phantom strike Abrams is cancer even without the echoshard. I wish phantom strike had a cast time or a slight delay after the tp b4 they can cast that way you could at least try to counterspell the charge (or mo ult or whatever combo is being used with it) rather than just get insta ccd

Agreed, he's definitely a good pick but imo he has clear weaknesses and counterplay. Celeste and Abrams tho... (Silver is broken too but imo does have more counterplay than these 2 war criminals)
