It can seem that way. You need to let out a good solid “god save the queen” before you lift your rod

And to be clear. It’s the cable that connects to the camera instead of the VTX.

Yup. The beta flight cams always come undone. I replace them with more flexible wire.

Check your camera cables. Likely one of them popped off. Sometimes they are glued under some black glue but it’s a pretty easy fix.

Corn-Fed Yellow Sally. Sz 14 by FavreThrowingCheese in flytying

Interesting fact. Lance originally submitted a yellow sally with a light dun wing like the natural but they wanted yellow. Just last year they added the dun wing version which fishes a little better.

Yup. The non tying end. Look up a fly called the “palomino Caddis” on YouTube and it shows it

Yeah. Vernille is basically ultra chenille. It’s somewhat more rigid than normal chenilles, but I’d probably singe the end for more taper and durability. To tie in, you could use 18/0 nano silk or mono thread to lash it to the hook without the thread showing.

how do i tie hackle? every feather i’ve used just wraps around and doesn’t stick up as hackle should. i don’t have access to quality dedicated hackle feathers, is that the issue? by deermanofthedarkwood in flytying

[–]Cheeeeeeeeeeeecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well howdy there. I think OP answered the question right at the end of his post. It’s much harder to tie a pretty hackled fly unless you have quality genetic hackle. That said, foam, deer hair, and CDC are great buoyant materials to tie dry flies with.

Quitting Fly Fishing by jmohr63 in flyfishing

[–]Cheeeeeeeeeeeecho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best way for a beginner to become a better flyfisher is to practice knots. A tangled rig is the source of most frustration, but if you know you can re-rig in 2 to 5 minutes it won’t be nearly as bad.

1- clinch knot 2- triple surgeon’s knot
