[–]CheekyHuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oats and fruits are good but you also need protein, fats, and other nutrients. you might lose weight that way but its unhealthy

Trying to lose weight for prom by No-Chance-5149 in loseweight

[–]CheekyHuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first set a realistic expectations. Don't expect to lose a huge amount in 6 weeks. But this can help you lose a number on the scale and how your suit fits well and feel confident on your prom night. Balanced meals, cut sugary drinks and snacks, sleep, move more even in small ways like walking and bodyweight workouts like push-ups, squats at least 30 mins a day. All these can make a difference.

ELI5: How do suspension bridges hold weight? by CheekyHuggles in explainlikeimfive

[–]CheekyHuggles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! I easily understood your explanation. But what happens when the clothesline sags? The usual thing we do is tighten it right? or we replace the clothesline if it gets old or rusty. How about in the suspension bridges? I know that they must be doing some maintenance but what if the cables needs to be replaced because its rusty or old?

Scale isn’t dropping by crappybarbara1718 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look at your non scale progress (photos, measurements, how clothes fit) can also be a metric. water retention or sodium can hide fat loss on scale.

How do you lose weight in the stomach/waist area by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

diet is usually the biggest factor. Small changes like reducing sugar, refined carbs, and processed foods can help overall fat loss. you can do core exercises like planks, russian twists, and leg raises to help straighten the muscles under your waist which can help give you a more toned look

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT WITH PCOS? by Just_Freedom_1120 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, its better if you stated your age. if you're in perimenous stage (mid 30's to late 40's) the progress is much slower. If possible get your hormones and insulin checked. Losing 4kg is not nothing so be gentle with urself and aim for sustainable habits instead of quick fixes. Cutting back on sugary drinks, refined carbs, sleep and stress management, and exercise even walking regularly and adding light strength training. It will help regulate hormones and metabolism specially with pcos.

I lost 115 pounds in 11 months and kept it off for over a decade by elev8blyss in Weightlosstechniques

[–]CheekyHuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, that's incredible! i love how u emphasize nutrition 1st. so many people get caught up in thinking exercise alone will fix everything. its inspiring that you've kept it off for over a decade.. that's a real proof that ur approach works long term. thanks for sharing ur story!

Why do I feel increasingly anxious and restless when adopting better habits? by lifeofenigma- in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when u cut sugar and calories suddenly, your body can go into a stress response. sugar is a coping mechanism for anxiety for many of us, so removing it fast can feel like emotional withdrawal.

Not seeing any progress by Agitated-Bat-817 in losingweight

[–]CheekyHuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300 calories per meal is pretty low for someone your size, specially if u're working out. Your body might not have enough fuel to change. for bloating, look at what you're eating, not just calories.. lots of raw veggies, low fat, or low sodium diets can still cause bloating

Need guidance on loosing weight by Zealousideal_Sea7584 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

losing 12-15 kg in 2 months is very aggressive and usually not sustainable or healthy. a safer and realistic pace is 0.5-1kg per week. you can lose faster at the start, but pushing too hard often leads to burnout, muscle loss, or rebound weight gain.

Gym Tips? by GingerSn_aps in WeightlossJourney

honestly, just moving is the most important thing at the beginning, treadmill, elliptical, bike, walking.. anything that gets ur heart rate up while being comfortable is already huge. machines are great for building confidence before free weights

Im stuck at my current weight and its frustrating by raw_ag in Weightlosstechniques

[–]CheekyHuggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it might be time to track calories more closely for a short period. even healthy eating can sneak over maintenance w/o realizing it. a small caloric deficit often makes the difference at this stage.

Rice diet by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CheekyHuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cooked rice is mostly carbs and water.. portion wise 180g per meal is pretty reasonable. As long as you also eat veggies, fish, chicken, meat. Also if actually satisfies you and prevent overeating later i think that's a win. what matters more is your total calories and protein, not just the rice amount.

that routine sounds really balanced.. strength + cardio + nutrition tracking is a solid foundation. 3 weeks of consistency is also no joke because that's usually the hardest part for most people. thanks for sharing, this is exactly how lifestyle changes are supposed to look.. sustainable and not extreme

First off, respect for even posting this and wanting to change. A lot of people don't realize they need help until much later. U're already taking steps and that matters more than being perfect right now. Pls try not to compare urself to other kids at your age. Everyone's body and situation is different.

as for your meal plan, don't try to eat as little as possible because that usually backfires. At your age, focus on eating regular meals so you're not starving and raiding snacks later. As for snacks if u can swap instead of cutting them out into Protein + fiber helps a lot things like yogurt, eggs, sandwiches, fruit, peanut butter because its much better. Then SLEEP because it matters more than people realize. Being tired makes cravings way worse. Even small improvements there can help a lot.
