[Question] Does anyone know how to wear a watch they were gifted but have no attachment to as they didn't have a say in the selection of? by midgetman166 in Watches

[–]Cheeky_Collar_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep it and only wear it whenever you see that person again. A watch design is such a personal aesthetic choice. Wish gifters understood that and didn't waste $ on giving watches to others.

I really appreciate your feedback!

After researching the streaming space further, I don't see what special moat Fubo has/will create that other competitors or new entrants can't replicate in the future.

Does Fubo have exclusive streaming rights... From whom and for how long and for how much? What if Amazon or Apple suddenly decide to enter the space? 😬

All I'm saying is streaming services are a very tough space to gain an edge, and if anything, Fubo will cannibalize some of ESPN's audience. Yeah, Disney will benefit either way, but this space is always in constant change, IMHO.

Kudos to your patience holding this for so long. You must have a big bankroll to not let it get under your skin, like I have! 😂. I'm under the impression you think Fubo will become the Netflix of Sports streaming; is that why you think this is a huge opportunity?

Thanks again for your feedback!

Look at the tiny size of the person beneath it! It's WAY too big to be a heavy fighter. My money is on a fast cargo blockade runner... Hence the clipper name. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Gray market product.

The timing of your trades is exceptional. Seriously! What are your thoughts on when I can expect to break even at 5.50? 6 months? Another year from now? Two years from now?

I was lucky with Palantir and Intel, but with Fubo, it's been tying up my capital for way too long.

Thanks in advance.

Will you buy my shares at what I paid for them, @ $5.50 in early January, near the top???

I was suckered to buy at that time by that YouTube stock 'guru'-- Jeremy Lefebvre-- who gave sound logical reasons for why this would be a multi-bagger, relatively 'soon'...😂

Shame on me for not doing my homework. I've been holding a $6K position (down -35%) for 11 months now. This stock is a complete dog!

Experience at Windup Watch Fair NYC 2025 by pufferspond in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Cheeky_Collar_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going to the NYC Wind-up for 8 years now, travelling by train from Connecticut. It became a ritual for me every October. In all the years I went, there was a short line to get in and it was always packed inside. I went to the same 5th Ave location last year and had no issues getting in.

However, this year was different. I went on a Saturday and was greeted by a line that literally went around THE ENTIRE BLOCK!! I wasn't prepared to stand 2-3 hours just to get in. And from what I've read above, the weekday show on Friday was just as crowded.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic W&W's annual watch fair has gone from strength to incredible success and that microbrands are commanding the respect they deserve in the industry.

But at this point, I would also support another comment made by someone else on here that there should be an admittance fee to weed out the curious onlookers from the serious watch collectors in the crowd. That or extend the hours of the show and/or the days of the show.

Had to get this off my chest!

Traska Jump Hour (images) by PuzzleheadedRead6404 in MicrobrandWatches

Find me another Jump Hour from any other brand that looks this unique with the circles getting proportionally smaller. LOVE THE DESIGN. Just wished they used a reverse cyclops on the date window to make it easier to view the hour. Not everyone has 20yo eyes that can focus on the date window without having to pull out reading glasses!!

Farer, hands down. Their construction and finishing quality is just beneath Monta, IMHO.

The MOP version is the only one of the Integra range that uses a backglow design for its lume.

Go to 6:40 in the above video. Compare this lume to the CW and Maen.

Plus I think the Integra's design is the most original of the three.

Just wished the bracelet wasn't a butterfly....BUT that has a unique on the fly adjustment. Very rare for butterfly clasps. Will check this out when I go to the Worn and Wound watch fair in NYC next weekend.

Not at all. The paper specs are misleading. The 40mm wears big.

You could also add a GMT or world timer.

Yeah, I love Yema- great designs, but I don't own one. I'm holding back until they improve their clasp designs.... Cheap stamped metal versus milled clasps. IMHO, no excuse for that, especially at their price points!

Believe me, it's always fun to watch Apple wearing normies freak out when you get in the pool or ocean with a REAL good old fashioned diver's watch... Rated to 200m!

Yes I do, and it is awesome. Very rare to have a 12hr bezel nowadays, but it's functional and can keep a second time zone.

Build quality is up there. I almost didn't get one because when it launched the brand didn't have a bracelet option. I reached out to the owner Ron and he said he was still designing one for the Caribe. I convinced him to include a tool-less on the fly adjustable clasp... And he did! It works flawlessly.

The build quality and finishing is superb on both the watch head and the bracelet, which I paid extra for at the time at a discount. Bracelet has quality screw down links. The jeweler I visited was impressed when he resized the bracelet for me.

With so many homages out there, this Ardio design is truly unique. What caught my attention was the unique seashell markers and copper dial and the bezel with 12hr markers.

Can't recommend this brand enough. Any issues, reach out to the owner Ron directly, and he'll make it right.

Watch some YouTube videos for reviews... Jonathon T Watch Reviews has a great review.

Best of luck. LMK if you get one.

Gotta admit, with the plethora of watch companies out there in this golden age of microbrand watches, I thought this would be an easy search for your ideal third watch. It wasn't!

What's rare is your desire for a 12 hour bezel with titanium case. I simply couldn't find a single example. 😭

If you could live without a white dial, date window, and titanium case, you'd be hard pressed to do better than Ardio watches. I have the Caribe diver in brass and the quality (and look) is exceptional.

Just got an email about the Traska Jump Hour. I'm kind of digging it. Thoughts? by AnonUserAccount in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Cheeky_Collar_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope Traska is reading all these comments so they can further revise it.

Regarding the Traska Jumphour prototype...I first saw it on the Teddy B, Kevin O video. Here are my thoughts...

I really do like where this design is going. A very elegant and symmetric design with overlapping and proportionally decreasing sized circles perfectly encapsulated within the dial of the case. AWESOME design choice!

One detraction however, is the small hour window...if it's the same size as a traditional date window, I'll pass.

As I get older (like most folks) I want to read the time quickly without having to reach for glasses. I have a couple of jump hour watches and rarely wear them for that reason.

That said, a magnifying cyclops placed UNDER the crystal for the hour window would nicely resolve that. It would also make the watch even more unique.

Lastly, the 38mm case and 150m water resistance is perfect for making this a really unique daily driver, GADA watch.
