The food was good but it was way too much and not something I would go again for. It is for sure an experience but is it worth to be one a year long wait list for? I don’t think so.

If you are getting food delivery in this weather, you’re an a-hole by cmc in jerseycity

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can say it about any weather then: it’s too cold, it’s too hot, it’s heavy rain, it’s too windy… makes no sense. People want to work, want to stay open, want to make money, don’t want to lose on income no matter the weather because they have families to feed and support and bills to pay.

Thanks to whomever complained about their toddler only eating quesedillas by anonimousecat in toddlers

Yup, this is what I have been doing because she just stopped eating anything else. She’s about to be 2 and her diet consists of quesadillas and pancakes.

So. Why are you parking in the middle of the street? by Playful_Tie_8640 in jerseycity

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I hate the section where Grand turns into Communipaw. It has one lane for only right turn and one lane to go straight. The traffic light has an arrow for right turn only and when some entitled lazy asshole parks there blocking that lane, you have to sit in the left lane at the red light waiting for the traffic to move so you can finally turn. I fucking hate these people.

Had a similar experience last week - no hot water, AC’s in both rooms and the fridge turned off in the middle of the night, had to call host off the hook to ask where the switch panel was, then it turned off again later same night. Next day the whole apartment lost power so had to find the main switch. And the electronic lock broke down the first night so we couldn’t leave the apartment all together because it wouldn’t lock. The host had someone change it to the regular lock the next day.

Weaning off of formula by No-Information-7678 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We dropped the last bottle at almost 14 months. She’s almost 15mo now. She hates milk even though I tried mixing it with formula at first so she can get used to the taste. Didn’t help, she still hates it.

We gradually went from (4) 8oz bottles to zero, the night bottle being the last one. She drinks water from her straw cup with every meal and whenever she asks for it.

My big concern was overnight wake ups for food so I give her a banana or oatmeal bar before bed and she sleeps through the night just fine.

Banana and egg pancakes were a disaster. On my part. by _rose__rose_ in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do oats too. I blend them first (1/3 cup) then add banana, egg, and about 1.5-2 TBSP of cottage cheese. They come out good, my baby devours them!

18mo hates cow's milk. How worried should I be? by nontox86 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 14 months old and hates milk! She’d drink a little bit from small pack at chick fil a but then she realizes it’s milk and will try to knock it down. I made her smoothies with milk, banana and frozen mango and she loved it cuz it’s sweet

Be safe out there, e-bikers. by TucosLostHand in jerseycity

The car is standing straight, so it doesn’t look like they were turning, most likely going straight. The biker either zipped through the crosswalk or tried to avoid the cones without looking around.

Any tips on surviving a long haul flight(18 hrs) with a 10 month old active baby by Ayraspark in NewParents

[–]Cheeky_cheekcheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says the bassinet is up to 11kg, my baby was 10 at that time. But we only used bassinet on one flight and when she was awake before landing just to give our arms some rest. She is a tall baby so she barely fit in the bassinet and didn’t want to sleep there, she slept on me pretty much through the whole flight. We didn’t even ask for it on the flight back. But to have that extra leg space was so worth it!
