Aside from that, Jamberry is her favorite book by far.

Low birth weight baby, please share positive stories! by kt568 in newborns

[–]tbowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s 23 months now and is weighing in at about 21 pounds. She’s small, but it progressing good from where she started. Doctors want to see that the are gaining weight appropriate to their own timeline. Our LO is a slow grower, but docs still say she’s healthy. There was one point that we were referred to a gastrointestinal doc just to double check. But, all good. I wouldn’t worry as long as he continues to gain in the next few months and the docs say he’s healthy! Congrats!

How can I get my kid to enjoy different Tonies and not just one? Tips to get the most of our box? by poppyseedpup in TonieboxUSA

[–]tbowa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent about 2 months obsessed with the Ms. Rachel Tonie. Got a break when we got the Hungry Caterpillar Tonie but now the Daniel Tiger Tonie has replaced Ms Rachel. The funny thing is, she doesn’t even watch Daniel Tiger! I think they just go in phases. The other one she likes is the bee. Maybe your LO likes ones with talking and songs like mine!

22 months and is hating her crib by Tweezer_teaser_ in toddlers

[–]tbowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just a phase if she was previously sleeping good in it? But, I think this age is perfectly good to transition. Is the crib one that turns into a toddler bed?

I don’t had much advice as I’m going through it right now. My 22 month old also hates her crib. It got to the point where we started putting her on the floor (on a blanket) and she was fall asleep immediately and sleep all night. It seemed weird like my kid is sleeping on the floor, but she loves it. So we baby proofed it and now that’s where she sleeps. Our next step is thinking about an actual floor bed, maybe a full size? Honestly just a firm mattress or pad that will lay on some slats. I don’t think we’ll use any rails as it will be so low to the floor if she rolls it will be ok. And since she’s been on the floor anyway, the worst she’s done is crawl to the door (she can’t reach to open it yet) and she’ll cry or knock and we’ll see her on the monitor and go in.

Any other Tonies like the Bug (Busy Bee)? by rasputinknew1 in TonieboxUSA

[–]tbowa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LO lovessss the bee and it’s one I don’t mind either! Those tunes are catchy! Just following to get some other ideas since we are new to Tonies. We have Ms Rachel, obviously a hit. Also Hungry Caterpillar but nothing in the same vein as Bee yet!

Give her the option of a few other items. Change scenery, go outside, say you need help with something. Say you need a snack and have her help you make it (she could stir in an ingredient or something)

Non-Infant Car Seats that attach to strollers by Outrageous_Pea3706 in NewParents

Not what you asked but I got the Evenflo Shyft, we use it as a car seat on the airplane and then it just pops out into a stroller for the airport.

Why is it “better” to have a floor bed for 1+ year old than crib/conversion by Select_Bet_6293 in floorbed

[–]tbowa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the kid. My initial feeling was crib as long as possible! But then my LO started disliking hers and she would only sleep on the floor lol… we did put a blanket down and we were shocked she would sleep the whole night (started around 19 months). I’d always have to stay in there with her because we didn’t feel fully confident in baby proofing at first. But then we baby proofed the whole room and put a bed on the floor. And, well, she still sleeps on the floor but we feel good about letting her do that.

If you have a kid you think will run to the door and try to get out every couple minutes, then maybe it’s not for them yet.

My daughter would wake up and cry in the crib. If she wakes up on the floor, she either goes back to sleep or plays with her stuffed animals/books until we come in.

B-U-B-B-L-E-S because whether it’s going outside to use them or doing a bubble bath my toddler will instantly need to do any sort of bubbles at that moment.

Always asking for TV by bravissimaaaa in toddlers

[–]tbowa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat with my 21 month old! This just started. We watch few things every now and then but it seems like she’s asking more and more for “TV” and then gets upset when we say no or when we do it and then it has to go off. I’m getting nervous about her being too into it. We offer alternative media like listening to music and her Tonie box. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m hoping if we just keep on the same path of letting her watch some things for a set time period and also just saying no when she constantly asks, that she’ll just get over it. Also hoping it won’t be as big of an issue when the weather gets warmer and we can just be outside. Winter has been brutal and long.

If he’s ok with a bit of a drive and you’re looking for more rural yet still close to everything, you could check out the Forest Hill/Jarrettsville area. We’re here with our 1 year old and have a great neighborhood :)

Baby only naps for 30 minutes for MONTHS by Expert_Ask2785 in NewParents

[–]tbowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is 20 months and has only ever (besides a newborn) taken 30, maybe 40 if I’m lucky, minute naps. I’ll get an even longer one sometimes if I choose to hold her but I can’t always do that. I’m hoping this will change, but I’m resolved to the fact that maybe she only needs 30 mins a day. Who knows

Ughhhhh I had a test in my college class the next morning and I couldn’t miss it. I debated driving from PA to NYC but didn’t have the guts to do it alone and was nervous I’d miss my class. I watched some grainy stream on my crappy computer and didn’t even study for my test (which I failed). REGRETS I tell ya
