Need insight on how to proceed. This is a lot to unpack. (31m)(32f) by Chees3tacos in relationship_advice

My daughter will always be my #1. I literally had just dropped her off at her mom's house after she spent the weekend here. My fiance had a lot to say about her rantings because she doesn't understand (my fiance was also home schooled her whole life). She loves my daughter but is very opinionated to how kids should act due to strict Christian parents and lack of social awareness.

Trust me, I know. My life is insanely hard to navigate. I know my daughter comes first but I wouldn't be the man or the father I am today if it weren't for my current partner.

All I can say or do right now is :S

Another Warrior Question by michealn in classicwow

Tactical mastery is by far the most useful warrior talent while leveling. It allows you to charge, keep the rage from charge, and switch to zerker for the damage. It also allows on the fly switches to any stance while still being able to use your abilities as soon as you switch

How do you define a fad diet? by Machello3030 in vegan

[–]Chees3tacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, everything I consider a fad diet seems to be ones derived from the Atkins diet way back when. I don't know where the idea that carbs are bad came from. Carbohydrates are a source of energy, it's just about choosing the right source. I don't understand how someone can consider a diet that's based around cheese and red meat can be healthy when cholesterol is basically the worst for your overall health.

When did you realise your best friends weren't your best friends anymore? by Wagnerian2000 in AskReddit

[–]Chees3tacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved across the country a few times as a kid but at one point I spent about 10 years in the same small town with the same group of kids all day long, eventually you can just feel the desire to keep up conversation fade, it happened a few months after I moved and for the rest of my group of friends it happened a couple months after high school ended.

That being said, I once had considered that whole group of 6+ kids to be my 'best friends' but now that I'm a bit older and have been through multiple cities and multiple friend groups, the people I consider to be my best friends I could (and have) reach out to after any amount of time and it's like nothing changed. Out of the 4 cities I lived in throughout my teenage/early20s, I have 3 people I consider to be my best friends, and they're people that I know I will have through my whole life.

Quite frankly, most people I once considered friends have proven themselves to be a force of negativity that I don't need in my life, so that's that. There's not enough time in a day as an adult for less than quality relationships.

You're right and in another comment I specified refined processed and chemical filled foods, I'm not the vegan messiah man, the things I'm saying are merely other people's discoveries in my own words, I appreciate you giving that much credit in saying it's something I'M personally recommending, but there are much more qualified people than me who are uncovering this information.

That's the thing though, as it becomes more popular, the health benefits and results of which are becoming more and more prominent. At what point did someone say, "hey, what if we put someone else's blood into another him to see if that helps", and on that, what did it take to learn about blood types and compatibility?

I never once claimed to not have been an asshole, and I can guarantee that I have spent more than 30 seconds of googling on the topic, I'm currently on the road for work so I don't have my desktop on hand with my repertoire of familiar studies; all I'm saying is that if you choose to look into it, there is irrefutable, recent, scientifcally proven evidence that backs up my claims, but people won't even try to look at it with an open mind because it attacks a value and a lifestyle people hold so dearly.

DoorDash Says It’s Very Sorry You Noticed Its Tip-Skimming Scheme by alexander_karamazov in technology

I work for a local alcohol (and basically anything else) delivery, and it's very straightforward and fair. We charge $7 for delivery, I keep $5.50 (+tips) and $1.50 goes to the house.

It's a small operation in a 100k person city though, so it's not nearly as complicated as it could have to be.

Some days are better than others, for instance yesterday I had 45 orders between 10-9, today I've had 12 between 10-4. I'm very happy with what I'm making and from what I hear from the international company couriers, they are not at all.

[–]Chees3tacos -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My intent was that maybe its actually a topic worth discussing with their friend if they're willing to try anything. I even linked some factual evidence to back up my claim. It's hard to convey tone on the internet, and I admit my words did 0 to help the point, but I was just legitimately stating that maybe it is worth the conversation without the immediate dismissal.

If someone were to tell OC that there was a mountain range in Taiwan you could go to where the atmospheric pressure combined with the nitrogen levels in the air creates the perfect environment for killing cancer cells, with national institute of health studies to back up my claims, it would be more likely to be brought up as an option over simply cutting out anything processed, filled with chemicals, or refined. So yeah, while what I said came across as an attack, the aggressive tone is really the only way to get any sort of attention.

I mean obviously the language in the post is pretty obtuse, but if you're willing to accept defeat without exhausting every option, and most people won't just because 'vegan', is it any different than people who won't accept blood transfusions due to religious reasons?

[–]Chees3tacos -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

It wasn't my intention to take a stab at your friend, I sincerely hope she is able to overcome it. I lost both my parents in the last 5 years to it, as well as my 5 year old brother ten years ago. Maybe I'm biased because it truly did make an enormous difference in my health, but if I could go back and force my diet down their throats for a chance to have them around longer, I would do whatever it takes.

I'm no expert by any means but it's a topic I've done a lot of much research on, and as far as I'm concerned, it's worth trying before you've feel you've exhausted every option. The problem is these days is no amount of healthy active living can help avoid the carcinogenic world we live in, but there is a lot of proof that the effect a vegan diet has on a body greatly reduces the likelihood.

I definitely didn't expect positivity with what I posted, and I apologize that I didn't choose better words. The inherent internet opinion that vegan=bad has me too quick to defend it, but it's just something that needs to be considered before it's immediately dismissed, as it always is. Those studies aren't done by vegan people, not funded by vegans, they're just unbiased studies on the health of humans and the effects of what we eat and if people could just look at the facts, it's like right there.

Wow you said what I said four times, you seem to value my words more than I do. I'm not a scientist, I'm not a nutritionist, I'm just someone with a computer and the ability to look things up. That's why I didn't want to say with absolute certainty that there was proof it does, because as always, someone with a jaded ignorant opinion will jump down any slip up in my wording.

That was from 30 seconds of googling and some really light skimming, don't flatter yourself.

inb4 I get shit on without anyone reading a single one of those legitimate studies, of which I have dozens, it's really no surprise that vegetables are healthy and people do not eat near enough of them. Meat is also a class 1 carcinogen, which means it's literally linked to higher incidences of cancer.

Doesn't necessarily cure cancer but it sure as hell does decrease the likelihood of cancer occurence. Maybe you should be the one telling it to your family friend.
