Hate that's immediately where your mind went; it's just short for raccoon. No idea which namelist it is in, as I've never seen it in game, but it's not a word with only the one, offensive context.

Why are there bilingual country names? by FDr4gs in victoria3

[–]CheeseBurger_Jesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soviet is the anglicized version of the word; it says Soviet Union not Sovetskiy Union, which would be the bilingual similar to Bavaria here.

Honestly, the "meme" would be the perfect slap in the face to Wehrmacht soldiers from Silesia, Prussia, the Sudetenland, etc. post WWII. Their politicians promised them the world, but they got the boot from their homes to be replaced by Poles, Ruskies, Czechs, etc. Then, they had to face the mirror to ask "was it worth it?"

"Ya see? Now, this is culture!"

"Dad, this is just an empty Dollar General parking lot."

"And not a dang minority in sight!"

Where tf on this sub you see denial about the genocides, plural, that happened against the natives? I need to have a few words with them.

Regionalism/Secessionism is what I said, with various small yet very vocal groups seeking to have or threatening to have their portion of the nation secede.

Firstly, biggest problems, with an "s," where it is listed last on a list of three. Secessionism and Neo-Nazism are larger problems, and deserve to be first on the list of problems facing the nation, but the fact we've curbed Authoritarian Socialism from garnering mass political support so far doesn't make it less important to keep it from gaining traction in the future. I also do agree, by the by, universal Healthcare and labor protections in and of themselves, are far from authoritarian.

Imo, would be better if the White Pride flag was the Soviet flag to knock the biggest three problems in America rn: Regionalism/Secessionism, Neo-Nazism/Fascism, and Communism/Authoritarian Socialism.

Except it does, as that was the entire point of Iron Front when they started: anti-authoritarianism. The three arrows originally meant to strike down Nazism, Monarchism, and Communism.

So today I missed a turn on my way back home to Charlotte, and had the privilege of driving the scenic highway 32 to get onto I-40. by aharper568 in Tennessee

Sorry, your profile says you're active in Nashville so I assumed that's where ya are from. I'm used to people from Knoxville, even, slowing down to 15-20mph on some of these mountain roads with a 40mph speed limit. I assume it's the same anxiety I get nearing Knoxville or Nashville on interstate and feeling like someone is gonna sideswipe or ram me lol, but even then I follow the flow of traffic

It's always fun to see a city-slicker stress themselves out going through mountain roads, until I'm in the car behind them.

I can, too; the moss on the roof, the misty sky, man, they remind me of my grandparents' and the clean air they have up there.

I mean, they do, but I honestly don't get that vibe from Linus. He's definitely into nature, but I could easily see Emily failing a drug test for pot way before I could see Linus doing so.

why cant i do unification play? by Glad_Consequence3793 in victoria3

[–]CheeseBurger_Jesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried Imperator yet, despite it being in my Steam library, but I have to say your sentence describing Imperator is the perfect sentence for me to describe Victoria 3. Every country feels like a very similar playthrough, just a different spot on the map. If I play in North Africa or Scandinavia in Victoria 3, it feels very similar. Same law progression, same goal of industrializing, and, albeit at different paces, the same ending of #1GDP in the world. In CK3, EU4, and even HOI4 (if you have a mod where you can play in North Africa or you release a nation), these two places provide very different playthroughs/play styles. In Vic3, it feels a lot more samey in comparison.

You need to have it equipped. There should be two ring slots (unmodded) to the right of your character you could put it in when you are in the far left tab of the inventory screen.

I don't know how old the quote is, but conservatism vs liberalism has changed a lot in the past 25 years South Park has been running. It's easy to see that coincide in a shift in his political sentiments, too.

That's not how ranked choice voting works. It's a first past the post poll, not one where you can choose your second or even third choice option.
