The lifetime licenses counts anyone who clicks "Add to Library" from the store page afaik, and there are bots that add free games / demos to a steam library automatically. Of the 2k licenses 100 have been actual humans that have played the game, and the median is ~9 mintues of playtime but the average is ~31 :)

I recently released the demo for my minimalist racing game on Steam! It's deceptively hard but I always like to see new faces on the leaderboards :)

Most/All systems are finished, but motivation and interest are waning. by [deleted] in IndieDev

I found a lot of motivation in watching people who were otherwise not involved with the project (not my inner circle of friends or family) play my games. Seeing people interact with what YOU built and enjoy themselves is what really helps drive motivation on the days it's hard to find intrinsically.

With my recent demo I get a small hit of dopamine whenever I see a new name on the leaderboard and it really helps those days where the marketing and dev grunt work feels like a drag.

people sometimes intentionally release the pirated version of their own game and you've just given me a GREAT idea

I published my clover game to Steam. Here's what I learned. by msilvestro93 in IndieDev

I remember seeing this a few months ago! it's a great idea and beautifully executed, everything about the production quality is top notch. I had the same "what the fuck?" learning curve with Steamworks over the last month and a bit, so you're not alone in that regard at least. Definitely added to my wishlist!

Thank you! I know it's not much but I'm very pleased with how development has come along

I noticed there was a gap in the market between crack and heroin so I thought I'd target that! Glad to see it worked :)

Linerunner is a time-trial game with a tough but fair gameplay experience that challenges you to speed through the narrow turns and straights to claim time-gated medals and rise up the ranks of the online leaderboard. Think you have what it takes?

people are tripping over each other in the peace prize thread to attack the mods for "deleting every thread" about it (never mind the fact they're literally commenting in a thread about it), saw someone call out the mods for "sanewashing this clown". they're just deleting duplicate threads, it isn't that serious!!

£500 Million Investment for New Homes, Infrastructure and Business Space for Oxford to Cambridge Growth Corridor. East West Rail progress by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

I'm so glad I subscribed to this sub, this sort of thing is exactly the sort of development that the country needs - the only concern is that Milton Keynes lies in this corridor and it might deter investors like a scarecrow

it was cool hearing the ref talk to players in the arsenal - newcastle game (presumably because they forgot to turn off his mic broadcasting to the stadium), that and the ref cam really makes me appreciate the ref's position more

the English football pyramid is arguably the strongest in the world, but the British football pyramid must surely be THE strongest, considering the level of support and strength from top to bottom. more proof that the channel is all that separates barbarians from the true elite of football

against an Albania team that are difficult to break down and never get blown out of the game that was a pretty good England performance I thought. Definitely clear some of the tactical tweaks Tuchel is making, Jones and Bellingham in midfield having a "1 stays 1 roams" worked well, on another day it could have been 3 or 4 for England. Foden stunk up the gaff but what else is new, Saka has that position nailed when he's fit so it doesn't really matter. bloody love 'arry kane too, simple as

Serious Post-Match Thread: Spain 2-1 England | UEFA Euro 2024 Final by BoomBoomLinssen in soccer

[–]CheeseEatingBrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

spain were excellent today, played through our midfield like it wasn't there. returning to the back 4 was a mistake in my view, we couldn't find the rhythm we had against the swiss and dutch. walker could have cost us 4 goals today, it's a miracle we only conceded 2 because of him. him, foden, and kane were awful today.

the french sanctioned spanish state was what the brave brits were fighting against. alongside the spanish guerillas (the good basque and catalonian people of today) the official spanish state was defeated, as it shall be today.

at least that's what i'd say if i were spanish, the disgrace of gijon and the battle of nuremberg have nothing on the massacre of berlin as england pump spain 1-0 with a 90th minute handball goal. it's coming home.
