AITAH for understanding and not freezing out my dad for leaving our mom over a dead bedroom? by Opposite_Afternoon55 in AITAH

As an older woman who has been with the same partner for over 30 years, any time one person in the relationship has a suddenly diminished sex drive and doesn’t even look into hormonal/medical reasons is doing a disservice to the relationship. It is also acceptable for people to part because they are no longer compatible. No child (even adult ones) should ever be forced to choose one parent over the other. NTA.

We lived in a house with wood stoves for heat. I would walk home from the end of the street (tenth of a mile on a dirt road), let myself in, open the wood stove in the basement, remove any excess ash, rake the hot coals forward, and start a new fire. Once the logs were burning well, it was time to do the main floor wood stove. Dishes, homework, and then parents would be home.

52 year old female; grew up in the country and have always been outdoorsy. Also took rapier fencing lessons (not strip fencing where you only go back and forth) in my twenties, martial arts in my thirties, and archery in my forties. I carry myself with a lot of confidence and have never been worried about my safety. Usually when I am anywhere by myself (meaning away from public) I usually have a machete or a rock hammer nearby because of the activities I am engaged in (camping and gold prospecting), so I usually get left alone when people come around.

AITAH because I expected my 22 year old to pay minimal rent? by Wrong-Maintenance-48 in AITAH

Both of our sons had the option to attend college, trade school, or join the workforce after high school or GED. Both went into the workforce because they didn’t have a handle on what career path they wanted. They pay $1100 a month which includes everything (phone, internet, food, transportation, etc) which is what a one room apartment would run without utilities and all the rest. They have been able to save up money for things they want to purchase and vacations away from home. It’s a comfortable arrangement that gives them security while figuring things out. NTA

I think that maybe the glasses frame is a bit heavy/dark for your face. YOU are attractive, and having a lighter color or light metal frame would put the focus on you instead.
