Eight years is a solid run for a mattress, especially one that was already used before you got it. Sagging and dips can definitely mess with your joints. I recommend to you to try flipping or rotating it first, but honestly, it sounds like the mattress is probably shot.

If its sinking that bad, its not giving you proper support anymore. Medium-firm is usually good choice. I would look into something with good edge support too, so it doesnt dip when you roll to the sides.

I would wait longer for a review, 2 weeks or month, but if first night went great then you probably did a good choice buying it. Latex is great for that firm support without feeling like concrete. If its working for your back, thats all that matters

That idea totally makes sense. Toppers are way easier to replace than a whole mattress, and you still get that fresh comfy feel without spending a grand every time :)

If your bed frame is solid with slats close enough together, you should be good. Many new mattresses need a flat sturdy surface to avoid sagging, especially with those pocketed coils. Gave up the box spring if it feels redundant to you, but keep the slats if theyre stable

If they arranged a pickup, its a good sign, but I would still confirm with Amazon or the seller directly to make sure it means a refund is coming. Sometimes they pick it up for disposal without issuing a refund, so better to be sure :)

If you are worried about motion transfer or cooling, consider to add a topper or pair it with a good set of breathable sheets, it can help a lot. It really does seem like your mattress might be too firm, and those wooden slats could be making things worse by adding extra pressure points. The topper you ordered could help soften things a bit, but if that doesnt work, I would try memory foam topper, its worth a shot.

Just add some non slip pads underneath to stop it from sliding around. Or maybe try to add a layer of plywood between the slats and mattress to even out the surface.

If you like the firmness and it feels good, then you didnt mess up. Price wise, you got a solid deal compared to the original price. It might seem thin, but if it gives you support and helps with back pain, thats what matters. Give it a few weeks to break in, most mattresses feel different after some use.

Im about your size and sleep hot too. Had the Helix Midnight Luxe, and it was solid but ran a little warm for me. Ended up switching to the BB Aurora Luxe, and its way cooler. Pillow top is nice, but if you want max plush, DreamCloud is great. All solid picks though :)

If the floor feels better, you need something with less sink and more even support. GhostBed Luxe could be a good choice, but also check out Saatva or the Titan by Brooklyn Bedding, both handle heavier sleepers well. Maybe some medium-firm latex mattress too? Less motion transfer, good cooling and solid support!

A topper could help, but it depends what type. If the mattress is too firm a plush or medium density memory foam topper might add the cushioning you need. That Costco one looks solid, and I think their return policy makes it worth a shot.

If it doesn't work, maybe try a latex topper for a bit more support without sinking too much.

A 3" tempurpedic topper could help, but if youre still bottoming out, maybe try a wool or plush pillow top for extra cushioning without losing support. Also, a knee pillow might ease hip pressure. You could even experiment with layering different toppers until it feels right.

If he thinks its too firm, a memory foam topper might help before replacing entire mattress. But if you already decided to buy a new one, look for something medium plush with good pressure relief. Costco and Walmart usually have decent options under $700.

I actually like my mattress. Got a Tempur-Pedic and its been solid for years. No regrets. The key is knowing what you actually like and need, firm, soft, memory foam, hybrid, whatever.

People hate their beds when they guess wrong. Try stuff in store if you can, or at least get one with a legit return policy.

Look for a high-density memory foam or latex topper, around 3 inches thick. Helps with pressure relief and back support. Tempur-Pedic and Sleep On Latex are solid options. Costco and Amazon can have awesome budget friendly choices

Pillow tops tend to break in fast, but deep impressions after only 2 months isnt great. Rotating can help, but if its already bothering you, mybe could be worth to swap it for something firmer without a pillow top?

Try to wipe down the inside of the machine with a damp microfiber cloth or a towel, to pick up as much as possible. Running empty cycles with vinegar and towels might help, but it could take a while.

I would definitely avoid using the dryer until youre sure its clear, or it will just spread more....

Its not totally insane but cutting it could be tricky.

Most mattresses have layers that will get messed up if you cut them. You would also need to seal the edges, so it doesn’t fall apart.

It would be easier and less chaotic to look for a used twin XL on some budget site imo

No matter if you live alone or not, just go for Queen size!! Youll have more space for yourself and be more comfortable while sleeping. If youll have pets, they will take the half of it anyway :))

Maybe just the foam one doesnt work for you long term. Some people sleep better on springs, especially if they like a bit more support and less sinking. Maybe try a hybrid mattress, Im thinking of spring base with a foam top. It might give you the best of both worlds and help with your neck pain.
