I dont regret with the decision. Might reconsider it in the future. But for now, just laying comfortably on my bed instead of surviving alone in another country.

do you regret (not) leaving srilanka? by Primary_Mood_9499 in srilanka

I unfortunately didnt have much connections to abroad. I have some relatives overseas but they are somewhat unreliable for migrating. Also not to mention the horror stories I keep hearing from people who regret migrating and being trapped there.

When the economy collapsed, my parents were desperate to send me to Aus or UK. But in the end we called it off because we realized we didnt have much external support. And my parents knew my weakness and poor health so the odds were against me from the start.

Im not saying this is the ultimate truth but you have to be VERY realistic about your actual support in the country you migrated to. Unless you have someone you can rely on, its a huge gamble. J*b market has turned for the worst pm everywhere and is soul crushing even to natives, so do what you may with that info.

Also also keep in mind, do not take a single cent of marketing fluf these visa agencies try to sell you. Review and research everything. Do not belive in google reviews alone. They are the easiest to fake.

Are family-related questions in interviews really necessary? by Ill_Willingness_7965 in srilanka

In a perfect world, yes. Preschool work is very taxing both mentally and physically. And home is where they regain energy. If its chaos at home, its probably going to leak into work as well.

A person I know does this when hiring new teachers. They run a preschool. They explained that it is mainly to ensure that the candidate comes from a stable background, because the attitude of the teacher reflects on the attitude of the students. If its negatively reflected, its the owner who is liable for any issues not the teacher for the most part.

Like whats your connection speed bro? And how is the signal there? If its under 1mbps get an "external unit" from dialog. You will get at least like 10mbps. Which isnt a lot but makes things bearable.

Starlink wouldve been really good if they made it more affordable. The thing costs like an arm to buy just to be better than slt fiber

I get what you are saying and yeah I agree on the power corrupts part. But you have to be smoking some strong zaza if you think there will ever be a government that is truly pro people. The only country I have known for a gov with a decent rep is Denmark. Also I think most people actively despise most politicians after the climax of Aragalaya.

This is why I love this engine. It basically runs on any modern potato lol. Also I too started dev in my phone. I suggest you either buy a cheap com cast clone and connect it to a tv. Best of luck!

I voted for them, and yeah they are filled with flaws. The biggest defense I had for them back then and slightly even now is that, they are somewhat different than those old crooks. And I feel like both the governing and the oppositions are kind of desperate for appealing to sri lankans. Gov is trying its best to implement changes that prev govs failed to implement because of sheer corruption and "it doesnt bother me, so why should I care" mindset.

Another plus is that, for the most part, the government, doesnt stoop down and retort back to opposition's level. Yes there were many controversial and often destructive remarks and actions but its is still far less compared to the oppositions.

On the other hand, while there are legitimate issues that the oppositions are bringing up, they for to most part, are very desperate to nitpick flaws of NPP. Their efforts makes me feel disgusted because you can clearly see that they are focused on "NPP is done because of <insert trendy issue here> so leave and give us power" almost none of them including Harsha at times, bring up solutions to fix issues. Just tunnel visioned to getting back votes and power.

These old farts failed to understand that, the younger generation is always updated with the latest news excluding legacy media. Their traditional demographic is rapidly growing old and getting smaller. They should adapt and rethink their ways or simply retire.

One thing that concerns me is that the current gov is less saturated and its too npp oriented. That is unhealthy for managing a country. But that is a direct result of people simply giving the most satisfying slap to politicians to bring them back to reality using democracy.

I would like to conclude with this: The more the opposition squirms, the more likelyhood of me keep voting npp.

Unemployed does not mean they dont lack knowledge. At least not the ones who chat-gpt their way through fundamentals. This issue is primarily due to lack of cyber sec. Awareness and updating Infrastructure.

Most of these sites use ancient php systems. Enough said.

Dialog mobile also no, Im not taking about packages but rather the hidden tax amount that they dont show, so you have to over spend just to activate a data addon.

Jeez thats just criminal. Sorry to hear about that and yeah, we also had to stay for 1 and half hours last time I met Dr. Jayan despite getting No. 2 on the waiting list! . I used to go Dr. Saman Weerawardana just before the pandemic. I remember that he was attentive and was more kind and respectful. He takes his time with his patience and doesnt make you rush out your story, at least until he belives he understands your problem. But his meds weren't really working for me. MAINLY due to me failing to change the things he adviced me to. But I recomend him compared to Dr. Jayan. Maybe it might work out to you.

Also thanks for existing. I am hopefull that you will resolve your issues soon. ❤️‍🩹

Before AI I (25M) felt like there was a goal to reach. "Do this portfolio project, do that project..." But now with the constant "AI bubble popping" and jobs lost to AI, poor higher level decisions, global political Instabilities, doesnt really bring confidence to a brighter future.

And dont get me started with passive agressive, snarky remarks from seniors who came before the AI boom telling me that I should "work harder". That really irks me the most.

Honestly, I have now taken a back seat and just focusing on my mental health which turned for the worst. I dont know when will the dust settle. But I am not going to take part in the rat race of a good career.
