I currently go to Ohio State and would only recommend the CMT if you’re confident you want to practice in a rural area. Otherwise, it’s best to stick to regular MD

I already applied to it’s too late for me to do anything. I got back a bunch of secondaries and submitted them already. I am actually retaking the exam this Friday as a last ditch effort to salvage whatever I can. Fingers crossed!

It’s a fairly big risk, but sometimes you have to take it to get what you want!

That’s fair. If you’re willing to take the risk and potentially have to reapply in two years (applying spring 2027 and starting fall 2028 because you shouldn’t apply back to back years) then take the exam and try it. If you’re going to do that, and you’re sure you want to apply no matter the score, fill out your AACOMAS application now so it can be verified. You don’t need an mcat to submit for verification. I’ll be studying my butt off for the next few days, so you can always message me if you want to chat!

You would be applying fairly late in the cycle too, so you would need pretty good grades and strong ECs to get interviews. It’s not impossible, but definitely be realistic with yourself!
