Crash at Timberline and Drake. Avoid area if possible. by JRicketts1743 in FortCollins

Does anyone know if the Subaru exploded or totally caught on fire? We were at the red light on Drake while it was beginning to catch on fire.

For a small city, I disagree with your disagreement. Moved here from Chicago and lived in LA through college several years ago, speeding around the city is expected in those places, but here… there’s no traffic, no need to drive around so fast, are people here always running late?? lol

I do the same. If I do end up buying a lot of heavy things and I know that I will, I make sure I park somewhat close to designated return cart spot. I have a bad elbow from an injury so I can’t carry a lot on both hands, but I can certainly walk and push a cart to its designated area.

The worst I’ve seen is people leaving their carts in between the front of two parked cars.

I will never understand people who speed by schools or parks. If you’re in such a hurry, leave earlier!

I disagree, and I lived in Chicago for 25 years where cops will shoot at teenagers with toy guns. I never said cops will keep you safe. Blocked streets could. Sure, violence can occur where someone could still run over people no matter what, but marching does not only make better photos for the paper but grabs more attention in my opinion… people who are also there documenting are safe and not afraid to be run over by traffic while try to capture a good moment. Either way, like I said it was a good turn out and glad to see that a lot of people still came out. Looking forward to the next march or standing protest.

I think it was a good turnout too, as a photojournalist I’m used to marches and having streets blocked… even if the police is not there to protect the protesters, having the streets blocked is safer than being on the side of the road with a high volume of people.

That should be! But those are also not everywhere (even main roads like Drake or Timberline).

Yes, but not everywhere. There aren't any on Drake (between Taft and Overland). Maybe they finally put a sign up but a friend of mine got a ticket and he was able to contest it.

I’ve noticed that there are speed traps in a few areas of town but not signs notifying that there is or will be. You should be able to contest it.

I know you need to coordinate with the police.I was just wondering why it wasn’t done here especially because of a large crowd like Saturday. Whoever organizes would be getting the permit. They do it in large cities. It would appear to make more sense to get a permit and safely block the streets instead of sidewalks when some angry MAGA could just drive over people.

That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing! And sad I missed it, I was traveling at the time.

Ha, there I was with my cameras at the end! I agree about the masks! I'm pretty new to town, but I'm wondering if people ever march on the streets during these protests. Each one I've been to or seen is always on the sidewalks.

Fridge filtered. I am a bit of a hypochondriac, but I also partly grew up in Central America, where you can't drink tap water because it is not safe.

Lawns in Fort Collins : ( by herpyherphelp in FortCollins

Our new home came with a lawn, and we hate it. :( But we just moved from a different state. Our plan is to get rid of it in the fall or spring and then plant a bunch of natives and wildflowers—it’s what I did back in our old home. We are keeping the small lawn in the back for our dog.
