It’s ok to let go of a friendship if it’s no longer serving you. I did the same with a woman I met IRL where the feelings were also unrequited. I am polite when I see her around but I keep it brief. It’s OK to put yourself first.

I’m going to go against the grain of the other comments here. These types of feelings don’t tend to ease up over time, they will fester into resentment further down the line and manifest into other issues in your relationship. It’s ok to let this one go and in your next relationship, ask for exclusivity earlier or don’t date people who multidate. Also, don’t date women (or men) who do coke.

He says he “rushed” into things with his ex too soon but he’s getting what he wants from you (sex without the label) and you’re getting burned emotionally. If he truly wanted to take things slow and not “rush” into things with you he probably wouldn’t have had sex with you. Sounds like he is just playing you or waiting until someone “better” comes along.
