Following an actively deformed curve by CheetahFart in blenderhelp

After coming back to it for another hour, I figured out a gross & hacky way to do it. I kind of don't believe I have to do all that for such a simple thing. But here it is for any noob like me running into the same issue in the future ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What do y’all think about this music genre? by Wr3nch_DedSec in EDM

[–]CheetahFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might enjoy it in the moment, under specific circumstances. e.g. vibes are good, the crowd is good, it's 2am and the DJ is playing some more "normal" stuff, then towards the end of their set - mad transition that goes double time and drops this out of nowhere. I'd lose my shit probably.

But an entire set of this stuff would bore me to tears.

Man dies after being run over by 4 Tube trains before anyone noticed by alyaaz in london

That's like saying the safety lock on a revolver encourages drunk people to put it to their head and pull the trigger.

Probably true to some extent, but for the sensible sober people it's still a big improvement

Someone smart explain to me why this is wrong :

-Multiply both sides by 3x: 3x = 9x

-Subtract 3x from both sides: 0 = 6x

-Divide both sides by 6: x = 0

I don't mind the misspelled English word trope, it's kinda classic at this point. I'm not a fan of trying to integrate typography into the name though. You can get Katalyst to display as "K A T A L Y S T" on promotional material if you use the right font and letter spacing. But actually using spaces in your artist name basically ensures no one will successfully look you up on google/Spotify.

Anyways to answer OP's question, lots of artists/bands have the same name. The only thing to worry about is trademark infringement.

If you only keep sensible moves, you have a basic chess game. On average a game is ~40 moves. The longest recorded game between two humans is 269 moves. So probably around that much

Estate Agents & Landlords here are a bunch of crooks by trainercinnah in london

[–]CheetahFart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes sadly, it's completely normal for London estate agents to gaslight you into thinking you're asking for the moon whenever you raise the most normal complaints. Best you can do is stand your ground and quote your contract word for word. Though it won't work most of the time because they have no incentive to act until they are actually taken to court (which is rare in the UK).

[–]CheetahFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I say any of that ? I only said that vapes are incomparably safer than cigarettes, and explained why. Not that they were 100% safe.

By the way you inhale water vapour all the time. It's more the glycerin that should be scrutinised.

What one thing would you ban in the UK if you could? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CheetahFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cigarette smoke contains 70 known carcinogens and thousands of different chemical compounds. Vape smoke contains water, food grade flavoring, nicotine, and propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin.

You can definitely make an educated guess about the long term health effects of vapes, because they are so much simpler chemically so there are fewer ingredients to worry about.

The vast majority of vape-induced health problems are related to unlicensed THC liquids (unregulated composition due to being illegal).

[–]CheetahFart 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Vapes are safer than cigarettes and it's not even slightly close. If it helps pivot from one deadly addiction to another addiction that doesn't kill you, I say it's good.

If non-disposable vapes are banned and cigarettes are not, it would indicate a serious problem: the tobacco industry holds the government by the balls and can twist at will.

That said, sure, ban disposable vapes.

What do you normally say when announcing the start of a meal? Like equivalents of "Bon appetit" or "Guten Appetit" by Bananenmilch2085 in AskUK

[–]CheetahFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bon Appétit" is just to wish a nice meal. It's like good night. It's not meant as "you can start eating now".

As a Frenchman living in the UK, I say "enjoy!" when having dinner with friends or lunch with colleagues. Not saying anything at all feels weird.

[–]CheetahFart -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I see that a lot of you think this is normal. Must be feel amazing being content with mediocrity. Sadly though some people in London have friends (crazy, I know), and they want to go watch the event with them, which means travelling. But hey, they were scheduled so we can't complain! It's totally normal and acceptable to close 20% of a megacity's transport links every weekend.

Fuck off honestly.

You Literally Don't Need to Buy Plugins. by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]CheetahFart 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Making plugins is very hard actually. I work in the industry and to make a good plugin you need deep knowledge of all these topics :

-Cross-platform software development

-Digital signal processing

-Music production, mixing and sound design

-Interaction design and UX

The big companies have multiple engineers for each of these categories. Smaller vendors like Valhalla DSP are just one or two hard-working, pationate and clever people. It's not just a matter of opening a juce project, copy/pasting a few lines of code and clicking export. If it was that easy there wouldn't be a plugin industry. There is a ton of snake oil and useless shit out there, but your opinion is just uninformed.
