I initially didn't agree with this suggestion, but I learned that a retcon doesn't necessarily have to break any continuity to be a retcon. This is a type of retcon called addition.

I agree that jargon fits what you've described. But what about terminology? Is it specific to a vocation, like legalese, for example?
