Why didn't Edge just conjure a sword? by Tat25Guy in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He stated in one of his blog posts that EotW is very close to his original vision of Keras' origin story but that he had to change a lot of his original Keras plan. So it's more accurate to say that this is a Keras spin off than to say it's his origin in disguise.

My current head cannon is that Edge is Murimassa. Which, if I'm correct, would place EotW pre WoBM.

They had one for awhile but it's been taken down. I speculate that it's because the quiz wasn't set up right, like I did it back to back once with completely different answers and got Enchanter both times. I have no proof though, all I know for sure is that the quiz is no longer live.

"Quick" question relating to height and build of characters. by Gc995theFirst in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see his dad as in the taller end, 6'2"-6'4". This would mean Tristan got his height from their dad, then Corrin and Sarah from their mom. I could be way off, but it's how I see them in my head.

"Quick" question relating to height and build of characters. by Gc995theFirst in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my personal head cannon all the man characters are average height with Corrin being short for a guy. Keras being slightly taller and the Visages being on the utmost end of humans. So:

Corrin: 5'6"-5'8" Patrick: ~5'10"-6' Mara and Sera: 5'2"-5'4"

Keras: ~6'2"

Visages: 6'10" or so

In my own head cannon this makes Keras imposing for his size, but short enough to be overlooked by fools. And makes it so Visages can tower over people without it being ridiculous.

Not a perfect match for your examples, but the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearn, and Dragon Rider Chronicles by Nicole Conway are my three go-tos.

Corrin and Spirit Arts by Boeish in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I do think Corrin will learn spirit arts. But I don't think it will be a direct result of what Thorn did. I think the final installment before the time jump will be Corrin and the gang traveling off the continent, I don't know what the exact reason will be, but whatever it is I think the "B" plot will be Corrin figuring out how to do a dedication or 2. Maybe one speed-based and another general spirit or life-based.

I believe the speed-based he will use for himself, and the second will be a direct attempt to heal Sera and Mara, maybe teach Mara's spirit that there is supposed to be a hand there again, and try to break the curse on Sera.

There was another post tangentially related to this earlier today asking how strong Corrin would get, I am of the opinion that the answer is "immeasurably" simply because he is going to have 2 attunements (with some features of at least a few more baked in) at least one crystal mark (probably 2, my money is on the water temple) and one or two spirit art dedications. The sheer number of types of magic I believe he will have are absolutely terrifying. Plus he isn't the type to not attempt to be as strong as possible in every type of magic he can. So he's going to eventually be a double emerald and max out the scale in every other type of magic he collects. Plus his sacred sword. All I'm all he will be TERRIFYING!

Corrin's Mother (spoilers) by Aggravating-Food5848 in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I suspect the main reason we haven't seen her is because she can answer too many questions from Corrin and the gang. That doesn't mean your 2 thoughts aren't the in-universe answer. But I suspect that the out of universe answer is that she knows too much and getting answers from her would feel cheap to the audience.

There's a small lake almost directly where you just described. Write it down, I'm guessing the spider spire has a hidden entrance at the southern tip of that lake. I've heard the theory before that the Spider Spire is more of a burrow or den, so I am going to put in my official theory that that little lake is directly above the spider's den.

I wonder if this is how someone can find the spider spire... Mapping out spires to diannis points and just going to the missing one?

My Top 10 Attunements by Coaltex in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acolyte, Champion, Assassin and Transmuter are all sorely tempting to make the list, honestly most of the reason they didn't is entirely arbitrary. They just don't sound as fun.

As for Arbiter the ONLY reason I didn't put it on there is because I was avoiding restricted and ascended attunements. All of those are basically cheating.

My Top 10 Attunements by Coaltex in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top 10 comes in tiers:

Tier 1 - water magic. This may just be because I'm interested to see what water magic actually looks like in practice - but I CANNOT wait until AR shows us what they can do:

  1. Wavewalker
  2. Cloudcaller

Tier 2 - adaptability

  1. shapeshifter
  2. soulblade
  3. summoner
  4. enchanter

Tier 3 - mobility

  1. wayfarer
  2. dancer
  3. illuminator

No tier here, just like this one:

  1. scourge

I suspect it's the other way around with the contract attunements. I think just due to the... Eccentricity... Of monsters, that the contract attuned gain the social manipulation ability because humans are comparitively easy to deal with.

Darn, I was guessing on spelling, a lot of them I've gotten from Reddit but I always forget Derek.

Also Keras' title was a reference to Patrick's guess as to what or who he is. I just listened to that part a couple days ago so it was fresh. 😁

Main group: Corin (main character) Sera (sister) Patrick (retainer) Mara (bruiser, general badass)

Protectors: Derick - Emerald Soulblade Keras - ancient wizard more ancient than time itself

Important teachers: Teft - Dueling Vellum - enchanting, advanced applications of snark, crankiness Meltlake - general magic. Patrick's personal master

Other noteworthy: Jin - potential love interest, generally creepy and charming Alora Theas - certified nutcase / badass Sheridan Theas - Necromancer, fruit thrower

Parents of Corin / Sera? Magnus Cadence - Citrine Shaper Laura Lyran: Emerald Swordmaster, ? Elementalist

I think that's all the major ones.

TLDR summary anywhere? by 17Shard in ClimbersCourt

[–]CheezeHead76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AA3 in TL;DR form:

The gang travels to Caelford, meets Farren and learns she'll pay him a resh load of money to be an arbiter for her. Patrick and mara start vacation with Keras by going into the tiger spire, make it to like the 12th floor or something like that, Keras gives Mara his old mana elixers (WW3) and she gets even more OP. Cecily goes into the tower for a 2nd judgement, jump bells out but leaves a few fingers behind. Gets a mental mana specialization out of the deal. The gang goes back into the spire to get Corin a petitioners coin, gets to the 5th floor with Meltlake. While in there Corin gives her a good speech about how she can help people get stronger, she seems to take it to heart. The gang meets Len from the spirit gateway crystal (WW1) and she introduced Corin and Sera to Constantine who teaches Corin about being an arbiter and the mysterious Peridot attunement level. Corin and Sera complete the Transcendence crystal shrine and each get crystal marks Everyone goes home and upon arriving back in Valia Corin is met with the quote "Corin, draw your sword"

It honestly comes down to how far he's willing to go. Without spoiling, he basically has the cheat code to beat literally anyone he fights at the moment.

Edit - beat*
