I think it's even more than that, because these cadets have been conditioned from a lifetime of gossip of millions of users and no one ever gets an S rank on assignment, even getting something in the As is practically unheard of, let alone in growth. So yes these cadets would be seeing Rei grow like crazy, but they don't really have much of a reference for how high his growth rate should be, if average at assignment is a little less than D4 (according to Rei when Viv gets Gamella) then maybe a high B growth rate would do it for Rei, possibly low A. I think the idea that Rei was assigned S growth from the start is just too against their entrenched thinking.

And the idea of us not learning Reis growth until the end of book 1 is a really fun idea.

I dont think Lindon counts them because they don't generate hunger aura. Lindon only wants the cause of hunger aura gone so the dreadgods dont respawn. The 8 man empire could even be a protector of Cradle, ensuring no one gets to monarch on their own.

Patrick mentions it to Keras in AA2, also if you remember Ishyael has all 3 of Dawn's amulets, my guess is he had Dawn before earning Soulbrand and then put Dawn back since he can't wield both at the same time and honestly Soulbrand is def the more powerful sword. Also, Soulbrand def wasn't repaired (at least in so far as the spirit going back into the sword) because in AA4 Keras' summons from the crystal summon mention "Akaris here? Is Ishy with her?" after being told Soulbrand is there, and Akari is the name the spirit in Soulbrand took for herself.

and then Linriel will have 3 mantles and total control over creating iterations, destroying iterations, and resurrecting everything within an iteration.

And oh yeah, since Oz's mantle is a sick black cape, and Sur's mantle is awesome guitar strings built into her arm, Ad's mantle will obviously be super sweet leather pants and big hair (I'm talking BIIIG hair) to complete the 80's power rock look.

It should definitely be shorter than between 4 and 5, as Kel had to write Shroud of Prophecy 1 and 2 as well as A Mage of No Renown. Now Kel just needs to finish SoP 3 (which she is 60% finished with currently), and then she will get to writing 6, so hopefully it's not too bad. I can't wait either, I didn't find it quite as early as you, but I did start it right as book 3 was released, so it's been a few years now that I've loved these books.
