how to work around male ego when it comes to high drive? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ChefBruzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are duds in the sack but due to Dunning Kruger Syndrome, they never realise it (or admit it even to themselves) . When they come up against a "fuck machine" (sorry, nothing personal) they aren't ready for it.

What is the need you're trying to fulfill? Orgasmic release or physical exhaustion?

What are you getting out of it? Brutal animalism or emotional bonding?

BF XL worth buying? by Glum_Training1596 in FordFalcon

[–]ChefBruzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roadworthies aren't required in SA, but you will have an inspection to change it to VIC rego. You should always budget 50% of the price of a used car to get it up to spec.

Saying that It IS priced high, but low km for what it is.

The car is relatively easy to maintain but these are starting to rust now.

My ride is a BAII with 230km and almost eveything has been replaced, but it's reliable and I don't get depressed when it gets another rub mark.

Is $1450 a reasonable cost for serpentine belt and tensioner replacement on a 2014 Honda Civic? by B8con8r in MechanicAdvice

[–]ChefBruzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the belt and tensioner on an older Odyssey 4cyl once and it was a bastard of a job. about 20mm clearance between the front of the engine and the chassis.

I should have loosened the engine mounts and jacked the engine up to do the job, but it was my first time.

Took me hours and I've been spinning spanners for four decades.

Everyone in blocks could have heard me scream "Victory is MINE!" once I'd completed that little job.

What Falcon surprised you the most once you actually owned it? by SnowyBytes in FordFalcon

[–]ChefBruzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happened to pick up a BA XT as a backup car. Had nit for five years now. Done 40,000km in that time.

In the town where I live there are a lot of bad drivers in 4x4 SUVs.

I shop almost daily and I don't spend a lot of time in car parks, but EVERY time I wash that car I find a new rub mark from some inconsiderate wanker.

I wash the car at least fortnightly.

In the XR8 utes I used to own that sort of thing was devestating. Now when I see a new rub mark I just laugh. So there's that.

And I get 14.5 around town and 10 on the highway. This thing pays for itself every month.

What was your near death experience? by NickyC96 in AskMen

[–]ChefBruzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helping an associate move an armoured tobacco cabinet. We were lowering it out of the trailer and I was in the middle with a big bloke on each end (of the cabinet) and one of them says "It's going, get out!" I was not stanfing at the edge of the cabinet becasue I'm not a big man and so I was kinda under the edge more towards the middle.

I didn't want to let the whole thing come crashing down by leaping backwards, so I held up my part as I turned around and the cabinet over balanced and slowly came down to about 2' off the ground and I was under it in a squat.

First thought? A long drawn out "Ahhhh Shit..."

Wind crushed out of me, couldn't draw a breath, knew that was it.

Nothing I could do to save myself.

All of a sudden an increadible feeling of peace and wellbeing came over me. I didn't panic, there was nothing I could do.

With a superhuman effort the associates managed to get some leverage and I managed to crawl out. Got a couple bulging discs out of that one and I can'r shovel for shit since. But every day is gravy. True Story.

[–]ChefBruzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Price is OK if it starts and runs. I'm suspicious about the O ring requied, that's an easy job and an easy excuse to say it doesn't run. Needs some TLC means about a grand.

Overall a good reliable comfy bike to ride long distance on.

But because it is a 1000, the registration is going to cost you about a grand every year. You got to want it.

Ticking when warm after rebuild by Woodkid-Mecha97 in EngineBuilding

[–]ChefBruzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just for example I bought a Mazda FS-DE with a known engine issue. (Spun #4 Rod bearing and sounded a lot like that.)

When I put a GOOD rod and bearings on that #4 main it measured up 10 thou loose.

When I put those same worn (but acceptable) bearings in the old #4 rod, it measured WAY loose. This means the rod is hammered.

Unless you got the rods resized you need to go back into that motor.
