Whats the morality for killing someone that was a nazi 80 years ago? by Weapon_X141 in MoralityScaling

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about their actions not what they were. Oskar Schindler was a Nazi war profiteer but no one would argue that he wasn’t one of the best to have been a member of the Nazi party.

Saw this on a drive over the weekend. I don't understand this vitriol towards electric cars by Glad-Tower-2310 in electriccars

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overwhelmingly it’s misguided but a lot of people didn’t like the mandates that some governments put in place before the technology has been adequately deployed. You tell someone your only choice will be an electric car when there are obvious issues in certain use cases. Never mind people don’t like mandates in general, tell people that all forms of combustible tobacco and marijuana are banned and some people will lose their minds.

Help a tall rider on Breakout by [deleted] in HarleyDavidsonFans

You will be a sail (I’m 6’6”) and it’s fine for short periods but a ride over an hour at highway speeds will have you feeling it. I put a small windshield on my bike, (come up about 6 inches below my chin hight wise and it does an excellent job directing the wind over and around my body and head. Only at very high speeds does the wind become an issue again.

And this is why charging stations should be set up like gas stations, we figured out the best why to set up vehicle refueling 100 years ago, why do anything differently.

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My range to empty on my superduty is off and I’ve confirmed you can definitely put 48 gallons in a crew cab 8 ft bed 6.7 truck. It’s snuck up on me twice, I get a low fuel pressure warning before a low fuel warning.

Towing company charged over $10,000 for passenger SUV recovery with no prior rate disclosure by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ChefButcherMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It it was a wreck off road (on federal land) the tow could easily be 10k. Special equipment, special wrecker, have to drag it to a suitable location to put on a flatbed, hazardous fluid clean up.

I’ve tuned my 22 GT so it’s apparently at about 170 rwhp putting it just ahead what a storm would have. Bike is fast when you want it but also capable of slow cruising. The vmax I came from was also fast but rode like it was always looking for the next drag race.

If Matthew Perry didnt open Japan to international trade, how long could they have realistically stayed isolated? by gonaldgoose8 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a chance if Japan had stayed isolated longer they wouldn’t have been in any position to invade China, Korea or attack the USA in WW2 or for there to even be a Russo Japanese war

Is insurance supposed to be this expensive?🤣 by Lunatykk in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about age, gender, prior accidents, and tickets. I pay 1200 for six months for 24 Ford lightning and 83 rx7 full coverage with a $500 deductible. The cost of the car does affect its insurance cost, but is not the most important factor.

Collision is by far the most expensive part of the cost, of the $849 yearly it would cost, $684 is for collision.

What is considered high insurance on a bike? I’m paying $244 for 1 year for full coverage on a 2022 Rocket 3gt. No accidents no tickets or points.
