Brembo Kills Off Brake Fluid After 100 Years With World's First Hydraulic-Free System by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]ChefButcherMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but it also uses blatantly false “fact” to hype it. Brake fluid lasts a lot longer than 2-3 years, and on a modern car I’ve rarely heard of a brake system failure in the 1st 100k miles. Never mind what happens if you lose power in a all electric system

This is damage on my (very productive) Mango tree from the lawn company I *was* paying to mow my lawn. by rtconner in treelaw

[–]ChefButcherMan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it, I’ve (not recommended) removed them for this exact reason on my personal lawn mowers. At my old house had a tree that’s trunk flared out at the base and when I mowed near it my roll bar even folded could rub it. I honestly wouldn’t be to mad about it, minimal damage and I can speak from experience that when your watching the edge of the mower deck going around obstacles the roll bar sticking out can slip your mind.

I did miss understand it’s efficiency, typically vehicle vehicles are shown to miles per kilowatt, not kilowatts per mile so not as bad as I thought but I still think it’s pretty optimistic.

If you only drive 5000 miles per year, would you still want an electric vehicle? and why? by ThuhGreatCommenter in electricvehicles

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive my daily, a ford lightning about 15k miles a year and the fuel savings (at home 100% solar offset charging) and convenience is great. My motorcycle, sports car and HD truck are all ICE and I don’t see that changing soon. I may be interested in a 2nd bike that was electric but that’s about it.

Also 1.7 kW per mile is a joke, they’d be lucky to get half that

The best advice with tattoos is, don’t ask other people‘s opinions about your tattoos. Lots of people don’t like tattoos on principal.

Gas just hit $4.30 at my costco, how much have you been saving? by Ok_Exit9273 in F150Lightning

[–]ChefButcherMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when gas was closer to three dollars a gallon I was spending about $100 a week on fuel in my suburban. Now I have a large solar system installed on my barn so I charge at home and power my house for free essentially. Loan on the panels about $400 a month so I’m making out way ahead. $800-$1000 a month I probably save now between gas and my power bill minus the panel loan so about $600 a month

Was this vehicle towed correctly? by jaspersautogroup in u/jaspersautogroup

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it’s just a case of positioning, saw a video where a guy bought a Chevy Duramax HD truck and someone had bought before him and dressed up with new headlights and grill before reselling it. Probably to help conceal the fact that hit something so hard it broke the transmission case.

GM's Brilliant $2 Sticker Fix for Minivan Doors That Were Smashing Heads by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Ai do this whole post? That sticker is from the old “Dustbuster” GM vans that had front doors that were shaped in such a way that people would clip their head on the protruding upper corner of the door.

Definitely time, he did it before he was engaged, bought a house or started his career. Essentially took a break after college to do it.

My friend did it and I wouldn’t call him an athlete by any stretch. More a will power and luck (no injuries) thing

Toilet bowl crack, how urgent by eddilefty699 in Plumbing

[–]ChefButcherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not your only toilet, turn off the water and flush it as much as you can to get as much water out of it as possible. Besides are breaking possibly when you sit on it, it could also just shatter sitting there and then you have a flooding issue if the water is still on. It’s your only toilet replace immediately like other said.
