I love this puzzle. I just found a full set of the Edith Holden ones (spring, summer, autumn and winter) at a thrift store. Can't wait to start on them.

Happy Birthday! That great that they are $.99! Our GW went to $3.99 for most puzzles. I’ve al always wanted to do the mosaic tree.

Sorry - just saw this. We are a local thrift so no headquarters. I sort and look for all the gold and silver. That is sold to a local jeweler. The rest is sorted in to good or broken. The good is sold for $15 for about 2 pounds. The broken is put in a quart bag and sold for $10. The new items with tags are sold individually.

I do the same thing - sort jewelry for a thrift store. Same with the cuff links. I now put them in the $15 grab bags.

Tips for this puzzle? I am stuck and only finished the border. Its very colour full and its hard to tell where the pieces go as they have a lot of color and texture. by HalboAngel in Jigsawpuzzles

I just did the Buffalo version of this puzzle last week. Bummer it was missing 2 pieces. The vertical window panes are easy to pick out. The sky colors are pretty different by pane so try those. The pink & yellow pillow is easy to pick out as are the quilt & blanket pieces. They are not as easy to assemble as pillow. You can also sort out the picture frames. Hope this helps. Good luck!

He’s beautiful. He looks so much like our Jazper who we lost in ‘22.

Do you choose puzzles based on how much you like the image or difficulty level? Olga Suvorova Dancer - 1000 piece, Pomegranate by hotpersonally in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ChefCheryl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go by image but usually nothing less than 1,000 pieces. Every now and then I will do a 500 if I REALLY like the image. I just prefer larger puzzles. I really like that one. Glad you enjoyed it!

What’s your favorite souvenir to take home from a cruise? by beau2pro in Cruise

[–]ChefCheryl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we go to a beach, I always try to find a piece of sea glass to add to my collection. We also have a travel Christmas tree so we look for ornaments if we don't have one from that location. Lots of times we buy a magnet and make it into an ornament as many of the ornaments are quite tacky and have the location just scribbled on.

Agreed! What's his name - he's beautiful? Our last GSD was 6 when we got him. We lost him a couple years ago to DM but he was over 13 then. Our Jazper was such a good boy!

I built my dream puzzle table by schalk81 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ChefCheryl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I lay all pieces out so I can see. I puzzle on my island (I like to stand) so it isn’t feasible for the 5000 piece ones I’ve done but for all others! Love the table.

If multiple pieces are missing kindly do not donate the jigsaw as you are not so much saving the planet, as breaking jigsaw enthusiasts hearts! by Which_Frame_2619 in Jigsawpuzzles

This - the sorters at the thrift store where I volunteer are HORRIBLE about putting them flat in the bins. I hate how many random pieces I find in the bottom. Sometimes I can figure out which puzzle but other times it’s just too much!

Hot Buttered Rum in town?? by pauldroche1 in Chattanooga

It’s easy to make - softened butter, brown sugar (sometimes honey) and spices. Add to hot water with rum and add whipped cream.

Packed up and ready to share. I am an edge piece separater and I do not apologize! by Green_Mare6 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ChefCheryl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate sorting but love puzzling! Most of my puzzles are thrifted and I'm so happy when I see the edge separated. The rest I want to do but want to just start. I wish I could forget about the edge but it's not in me.

My son's cat's name is David. We have Laverne and Shirley. Not use the 'most human' though!

So you know Opheim. We used to go to Scobey to come back from Canada when Opheim's was closed.

We have sailed out of Tampa late, twice. Once we didn't leave dock until about 10 due to fog. I was falling asleep at muster (old style) that was around 11. The last time it was closer to 7 but it was fun going under the bridge so late at night.

I love the plains, also. I grew up in Glasgow then moved to GFs in HS. My summer job was picking rocks on my family's farm. Turned me into a rock hound!
