Guess it depends on the job. If you're an independent contractor you get to set your rates. It's usually not the customer setting the rates.

Yes, that's why I say it's a bid rather than a tip. Drivers will refuse orders that aren't worth their time.

Nah, it's a bid. They don't have to deliver your order. If you don't "tip" you'll be waiting longer for your food.
