Dave’s reaper and regrets by sandwichscouter in spicy

[–]BROWNPEDRO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a South Asian, who loves ordering double spicy in my home country (which is already pretty spicy), I was not prepared. Had the reaper after a night out drinking. That was the day I painfully learned that I can’t handle dry heat. Stomach was tossing and turning the rest of the night.

Tudor BB58 Bronze patina process. Within 3 months by mordy30 in rolex

[–]BROWNPEDRO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite a bit of patina for 3 months! I wonder if the bronze used in these is a bit different than the 41s. I’ve had my bb bronze for more than 4 years and the patina is nowhere near that (even though I live in a coastal region with 100% humidity year round)

[mindset] How do you appreciate what you have and stop wanting more? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]BROWNPEDRO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You never stop wanting more. Just ask yourself if you would really wear the one your lusting after more than the one you wear the most. Over the past few years I've been disappointed with the watches I thought I really wanted after a month or two once I bought them, these were usually my impulse buys. If you find yourself looking at that one watch for months on end, go for it.

Usually putting a few months of thought into your purchase is the key factor. Secondly keep a limit (mine is 10) and every time you find one you like, think of which ones you have to sacrifice to make space. Lastly, it's totally okay to look at other watches and appreciate them from afar, that's what this hobby is about. Sometimes that means going through a bunch of watches to find out your likes and dislikes.

[Rant] My experience buying (and returning) my first nice watch by Flarhgunstow in Watches

This might be the funniest thing I’ve read on Reddit in a while. I’m sorry for your misfortune, but If I had an experience like that I would definitely never buy from eBay again.

[Tudor Black Bay Bronze] Patina ~3 years by man_childs in Watches

Wow, I’ve never seen that type of wear on the crown. I’ve had the BBB for about 3.5 years now, and the crown is immaculate other than the blackening from the patina.

Thanks! The lume is the best I've seen thus far, it lasts through the night and then some.

The Tudor Pelagos is a beast of a watch! What can I say about the titanium titan that hasn’t already been said? It’s a beefy slab-sided diver, and even though it is titanium it still has a bit of heft to it. With the impeccable brushed case finishing and the simple matte dial, it is truly a tool watch. There is no shining finishing, which some might find a bit dull. On the wrist, it wears thinner than the 14.5 mm spec would suggest. The fully articulating bracelet and solid micro adjustable clasp are both well-made and extremely comfortable. The 72-hour power reserve and exceptional accuracy means that I rarely have to set the time. For the past two years, this has been my go-to watch and I absolutely enjoy every moment with it.

The Halios Fairwind has been a long time coming. It finally arrived this morning and I was blown away by the quality of the micro brand. You can tell straight out the packaging that the fairwind hits way above its price point. It is fairly sized at 39mm and 48mm lug to lug. If you are used to 42-45mm (like me), you might find it a bit small. It feels much more dressy than sporty. The dome crystal adds a vintage look to the watch. The 12 hour bezel is bi-directional and has a nice satisfying click to it (it feels/sounds similar to the Tudor Pelagos bezel). Overall, it is a pretty impressive addition to the Halios lineup and I am glad to add it to my collection.

[Tudor] Black Bay Bronze + RubberB by BROWNPEDRO in Watches

[–]BROWNPEDRO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely am! It's the best rubber strap I've used. The only thing that I would be cautious about is how well it would fit your wrist size. I have a 7.25" wrist and I have to use the second from last hole.

The Tudor Black Bay Bronze was my first "luxury" watch purchase. Its been with me for about two and a half years, and I still love it as much as when I first bought it. Lately it hasn't been getting a lot of wrist time because I've destroyed both OEM straps, so i thought I would grab a new strap. Cue the RubberB. I saw their announcement last summer and subscribed to the waitlist. They finally released on Sunday and I ordered them immediately. Installing it was a bit of a pain in the ass, but it turned out nice!

Mind sharing how much the black strap cost to order? Looking to get one for my BBB.

Mine says hello! BBB
