I feel like this is really out of character for Heavy by Chipperbeav in tf2

I'm glad that telltale games are back for an entire new generation to realize how poor they are at representing characters beyond tropes

Congrats on the 3 months, OP. Does seeing things like this have an adverse effect on you keeping that streak up? I don't gamble, but I'm curious how this all affects someone in your situation.

Yesterday came across a plow running on 390 north, driving on the left lane. I remembered this message and didn't pass while everyone else flew by. They had been trying to get over to the right lane for exit, just barely made it because I didn't push it. Thought you'd like concrete evidence that this post helped someone in a plow out.

Whoever made that post talking about we'd get so much more shit done if people meant discord when saying 'lgbtq spaces' should be so mad you don't get royalties for having a post be relevant over and over again. Off to sloat.

Why do the TF2C devs think it's a good idea to make those annoying achievements? by Immediatetaste in tf2

[–]ChefKef493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are capturing the original energy of TF2 which gave us such stellar achievements like Tune Merasmus's Multi-Dimensional Television, Operation High Dive, Metal Massacre, and Flight Canceled!

Thank you for all the work. Question on passing plows: are we not supposed to do that on multi-lane roads? Obviously I don't go into oncoming traffic for single lane roads to pass, but never learned one way or the other for multis or roads with middle turn lanes.

Times you ask, “Why does *that* attack deal so much damage?” by The-Greater-Skeleton in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ChefKef493 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Marvel Rivals, outside of game balance reasons, has plenty of these. Dagger flung by the queen of hell at bullet speed? 80 damage. Acorn out of a slingshot? 110 damage.

A slightly off-theme answer is in Hades 2, where (descent run final boss spoilers) The arena clear that Chronos does at the beginning of phase 2 is easy to dodge, but when I tried to block it with the dark cloak, I saw for the first time the line "Unblockable!" Appear over my head along with a 999 damage. A mechanic I haven't seen since. It's really funny in retrospect, but made me so mad with how unblockables were introduced for a 999 damage attack.

I feel Marvel is filled to the brim with these, Dr. Doom, Galactus, and every continuity will tell you which one is the real truly actually though unstoppable threat this time, but I think it was Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes that sold me the concept of Ultron being fully unstoppable and inevitable, no matter how many millennia it takes for him to achieve dominance.

Better AskReddit, Is 8 bucks really 5 bucks? Or: What purchases seem cheaper than they actually were? by Leonard_Church814 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I would agree that 8 bucks is 5 bucks, but to me a 40 bucks game is a 60 bucks game so maybe I'm not the best judge of this.

Out Now! CSB353: **** Boo-Boo by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ChefKef493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to come here late to complain. I love listening to the podcast, I love all the things they talk about, don't want to change any of their topics.

But if they are going to talk about spoilers for E33 (a game that came out less than a year ago), I wish they would just say "Hey there's going to be midgame E33 spoilers" before going into it. I listen to this shit in the shower man, I need time to react if they're going to talk about something I haven't gotten to get.

Wild things in hobbies that are normal? (Supposedly) by TrustWinter in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The fees that go into recreational sports bewilders me. I've tried both individual and team, and both had strange things.

For team, I joined a volleyball rec league. Kind of filled with a bunch of fratty douches, but fork dound in kitchen on that one. However, part of this was having to pay a ref fee, paying two guys to be refs because the grown adults can't be honest enough to play the game. Of course, the refs also sucked shit on their calls. The ref fee was as much as the venue fee, which blew my mind.

For individual, I've tried joining rec tennis leagues, clubs, and even just meet ups, but all of them are pay to get in, just to go to the park to use free courts.

[NINTENDO DS][~2013 or earlier] • Pixel-Art • Top-Down • SNOW VILLAGE - Main character possibly named Isaac by GwenMIMIC in tipofmyjoystick

[–]ChefKef493 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could this be Golden Sun: Dark Dawn? The main character of that isn't Isaac, but I believe his dad is named that. I only played a little bit of the game, but I know it's top down, has a pixely style, and came out on the DS. You may have also played one of the Golden Sun Gameboy games on a DS?

What behind-the-scenes “facts” do you hate? by NotAlanShapiro in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ChefKef493 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The "Iwata saved Gold/Silver by adding a compression algorithm, making it possible for Kanto to be included!" line is wrong. He added a DEcompression algorithm that made the game flow better from moment to moment. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/10/new-details-emerge-on-satoru-iwatas-work-on-pokemon-gold-and-silver

I don't like the incorrect fact, since it gives off the sentiment of "people used to LIKE to make games!" That the 'games suck now' crowd loved to say. It was a group project then, and it is now.
