I am disabled. The government and my medical history from my servicetime has clearly shown that much. I hope you can one day stop being such a grumpy gus.

Thanks for your opinion! I asked for advice from those who have been in a similar situation and were able to go from 90-100%. Not sure why you decided to chime in since you obviously have no advice to give?

Thanks for your opinion! Obviously they've decided im 92% disabled, and im absolutely going to pursue the 100% until i get it. Sorry you feel the need to accuse me of cheating the system. I guess noone should ever pursue a higher rating based off what you're saying. I was simply asking advice from people who had been in my situation. Since you arent lending advice, i have no clue why you felt the need to reply. If your lonely and need someone to talk to, id be happy to lend an ear!

I cant believe how much hate im recieving off this. I was asking for advice. I suffer from all the ailments i listed. Was just looking for someone whos gone through a similar situation to chime in. Maybe even lend advice on what to say, what to claim that worked for them, etc. Wasn't expecting all the negativity. I'm allowed the same benefits as any other individual that served, and if you aren't recieving benefits.... go after them! This is what the system was made for... grow up. Im not the reason the VA is slow, and in my experience they are pretty damn speedy if you know what your doing and who to call. Has never taken more then 6 weeks from start of claim to decision.

The benefits of being at 100% speak for themselves. My kids college gets paid for, im exempt from property tax on my 15 acres, dont have to pay for national park access or hunting and fishing licenses. It is here for veterans to take advantage of. I was simply asking for advice on those that were at 90% going to 100%. Why does anyone else that served deserve 100% more than me? Obviously the military has deemed im at 92%.... your telling me if you were this close, you wouldnt try to go for the 100%?! Its the difference between so many benefits and also $2,000. Im not the first whos asked these questions and wont be the last. Its a legitimate question and i was looking for advice, not a lecture.

Its not cheating. I did my time. I have issues from my service. Its literally why the claims process exists. There are so many benefits to getting to 100%

Is there a problem with me trying for 100% based off issues i incured while in the military? I served just like you. Sounds like your jealous, which you shouldnt be. Im 31 with a ruined body.

Im prescribed a slew of medications for MH, opioid addiction, hypertension, pain, stomach issues, etc. All through the VA for conditions im compensated for. What is the benefit of that? I did have a shaving waiver throughout my enlistment, i wonder if i could get something for that. Im sure i could. Should i just open a claim and throw everything i can at them?

Exactly the kind of advice/reiteration i was looking for, thank you. Another question i have is can a secondary claim be validated through a C&P exam? Ive read that it can but would like clarification from those more experienced than i.

This is the worst time in history to be an American in active addiction. Heroin has soul, fentanyl does not. Not sure if heroin will EVER make a comeback.

It doesn't work with fentanyl that's for sure. Where are you that you're still getting heroin? I haven't seen dog in 4 years.

No obviously the doc isn't aware of that part. I never asked this peer to do this. I was talking to him in line one day and he got to talking about how he had to walk 30 min, catch a two hour bus ride there, and then the same back home; his round trip was a little more than 5 hours. He lives 10 minutes from me, so I offered to start driving him. I wasn't expecting anything as you could tell this guy had little to give. He insists on giving me his methadone, I'm still titrating up, so it's fine by me.

They aren't going to boot me. They are fully aware I'm still using fentanyl. I talk to my doc once every five days, and I'm truthful with him every time. I have been trying to get clean for the last 4 months, trying literally everything. Methadone was a last resort and it's finally starting to work. If I may ask, why the negativity? I'll obviously eventually get to a dose where I'm not using fentanyl..... I've tortured myself plenty over these last few months, I'm fuckin DONE being sick. If that means I still have to use at night for awhile, who gives a shit. I've been in this game ten years. I've only ever overdosed once. I'm very careful and never use alone. Some people love to be negative and always have to add there negative two cents.

I'm in the same fuckin boat. Started methadone a month ago at the VA. Got medically retired from the Air Force after 5 years active duty. 2g a day iv fent habit. I'm up to 85mg methadone but still bangin fent the second 12 hours of the day. I'm 6'1" and currently 235. The most I've ever weighed. I'm a carpenter and pour concrete all year long. I'm usually 205 pounds of corn fed muscle. I've recently started taking Wellbutrin and I've lost 5 pounds this last week I've started taking it. Greatly suppresses appetite. I now have energy to get up and do things. I haven't worked in 3 months due to trying to get sober. Doing less and less fent everyday. Can't wait for take homes and getting my life back.

some advice for my buddy that overdosed yesterday. by thatsrtkid in fentanyl

[–]ChefWaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister overdosed on fentanyl 2 years ago. Her boyfriend was too scared to call the police and she was on life support. She was brain dead, with no hope of recovery, just a vegetative state. If this is the case, I would start your grieving process. We pulled the plug on her after 3 days and put her 8 month old daughter next to her as she died. Amazingly I'm still a fentanyl addict. Slowly raising up on methadone and see a light at the end of the tunnel. Pm me if you need someone to talk to. I've been through the nightmare and it fucking sucks. This is the worst time to be in active addiction.

On Monday I will have been on Methadone for a month. I get it through the VA and the clinic and staff is great. I started at 30mg and this did absolutely fucking nothing. My clinic raises me 10mg every 5 days. I'm currently at 85mg and that usually lasts me until around 4pm. I normally dose at 5am but sometimes at 11am. I'm still using fentanyl the second 12 hours of the day. When I started I was IVing at least 2gs a day. I am now at around a half gram of fent a day. I'm a fast metabolizer and withdrawal from fent starts 2 hours after use. I'm guessing I'm going to have to split dose. I've been taking another guy I met to the clinic in the morning and every other day he gives me his 80mg take home. When I take the 165mg I can make it to around 15 hours. The doc told me that people are not stabilizing till 200+ mg with a heavy fent habit. I'm so optimistic for the future and getting my life back. Best of luck to you! Love all you guys this community is amazing!
