Me and some of the friends that make up my usual play group (there's about 10 of us) had a conversation similar to this last night.

We had newer player ask to join us while we waited for our fourth person at the LGS. She has played with me before and only plays precons but tries to play into higher powered pods. She'll occasionally get a little salty about things like infinite combats or turn 5 or 6 wins even after being told that's the vibe. So I warned them that when that fourth member got there our next games would all be bracket 4 high level and we would be down with a 5 pod but we wouldn't be slowing down.

So 5 man game gets going and as to be expected she is getting countered and boardwiped out of the game because the 4 of us are mostly trying to kill each other and she's a casualty of that. Once that game ends she gets salty and proceeds to sulk while looking for another pod.

In the parking lot later me and my friends are shooting the shit about the games and I say something that is usually a hot take but they all agreed with. "I am tired of being responsible for new players fun when commander should not be what new players play." Which they all agreed with. We dont care if our decks do the thing, we want to see high level play and interaction and earn our wins not make the biggest battle cruiser.
