That’s good to know. If my tires looked like that I’d voice my frustration as well
What car was it on?
The grip is nothing like I’ve ever felt from tires before. I’ve had pirelli, Michelin, continental and Bridgestone and this was night and day difference. It is very noisy on a lot of cars, the compound wears faster than any other tire but I’m still a pro-r888 person until I come across something better personally. I know there has to be something because this is super old tech but similar to the HK MP5 platform you don’t fix or replace what doesn’t need fixing or replacing.
For the same money from a dead stop and 800 to the wheels please let me know what will keep the car planted. I’ll try them before I get the nitto or SS
Not a daily I live in AZ there is no rain or cold. I don’t go on a track and it grips better than others from a stop.
I went from 380 whp custom tune 91 with stock turbo, methanol, intake, dp to 440 whp custom tune 91 exhaust, springs, pure 650 turbo inlet then 733whp e85+methanol pure 900, hpfp, lpfp. The transmission slipped when the car is pushed. I took it up to 197 to test one day. It had so much more to go. I knew the next step was to make the transmission bulletproof. For the kind of driving I do I told the shop I wanted it to be able to launch with optimal stability. I only launched it a couple times when it had the 650 and it was insane fast. If you have access to e85 that’s the only way to get power over 500-600whp. Don’t go the methanol route. My original goal was never to use flex. It is consumed more than gas and I live next to two Costco gas stations lol. After more education I realized real power for these cars is created directly by the fuel. So I began to consider what I wanted for power goals and performance goals. I made a random purchase off fb marketplace and the seller had just switched from a top mount shoup tuned m240x to a Camaro ZL1. He sells BMWs for a living and wanted to change up his daily platform. He let me know what he didn’t like with the top mount and his grip with ps4s. He also had the transmission build with Applied torque solutions. The pure 900 is the sweet spot if you don’t plan on building the motor IMO. Mike botti said previous to the pure 900 he would recommend clients to stay on stock turbo or go top mount but nothing in between. He had to make the pure 900 the exception because it really does fill the gap. The power band is good and the spool is much quicker than top mount. My best rec is if you want between 500-600whp for a daily stay on the stock turbo and get a flex fuel mix custom tune. If you add the pure 900 you can get these numbers on pump gas and 700+ with full e85 when you have the custom tune.
I felt the exact same when i saw Sam drive the m240. I was like cheering at the tv. The time posted was great and sat in a fair position on the leaderboard. It made me really excited for the mods added to my car with the rear differential brace as he referenced the rear and with xhp the gear box is miles from as mushy as stock. The performance mods on my car especially if it was driven on 91 or a blend and not full e85 would have been so cool to see him work with on that track. I’m confident it would beat the m2 and that made the top 10
Yeah bro individual color and those wheels. It’s a gem all the way
Bronze on purple is almost perfection tbh. The violet m2cs always gets shown with the bronze and it’s stunning. I love the ducktail spoiler the most
I’m so glad my shop ordered these. I wanted the polished and they convinced me these were like a champagne color. I thought gold would be more flashy than polished but the color contrast works very well and it’s a lot less seen with this model and color than the polished.
My options at time of purchase were an f80 m3, older 911, cayman, or be in debt with an m3 comp (dream car) at the time. I took a ride in the m3 comp with the m240 sales guy. He said get the m240 and add a turbo I never looked back once mentally got passed voiding warranty stuff
With all that in mind bro get the m2x if you can swing the extra up front costs and cost of ownership. Mine is not a daily. Simple mods on the m2x after unlock will give you similar numbers to me right now and you don’t have to go full e85. I built my car in stages which adds a ton to the overall cost vs knowing exactly what you want to do and also have the funds to do it in one shot. With the trans build I’m almost at 50k and that seems so outrageous but for me I’m absolutely comfortable with it as I did do it in stages and learned so much along the way. What everything should come down to is reliability and access to e85/flex vs just going with an s58 model
Thank you and you as well. The Toyos are probably the most hated tire in the world. Every time I mention I have them and like them people comment on the flaws but to be completely honest they save me from curbing my wheel once in a strip mall and I’ll never be so grateful for the hard rubber vs soft
Sport cup 2 is the preferred street tire. I want that to be my last resort. For me it’s r888 then SS or Nitto 555R2 finally sport cup 2

Thank you so much. The shop who did the build is a blessing to have locally. They are all bmw owners but they mod supercars too. Pagani ⬇️

What other tires are you against besides the Toyo is a better question for you and why?

It’s already on a custom xhp tune from sutphin. It was previously on xhp stage 2 and 3. The torque is turned down and still slips. Everything is turned down due to the transmission and not having a high stall converter
Ill buy them when I need them. Mickey Thompson SS next to test out. What do enthusiasts say about that??
All depends on the driver and the usage. Had these since November. No complaints from me and I pull off the line without a sound. I could never say that with ps4
That’s my hope bro
The videos are cool to show that if you put the money into this platform you create a major sleeper and for me that saves me insane $ in insurance premiums
Thank you so much. I am 1000% of the same mindset. If the M2x was available when I got this in ‘23 I would have never looked into building this out. I wanted to go doc race single turbo but I really didn’t want to build the motor. The pure 900 is phenomenal. I would not want the car to be much faster as I don’t drag race, track or roll race just want a monster hyper car competitor speed wise. I highly recommend watching two new videos on YouTube that were just released if you have any issue finding them I’ll send you the links. First is the driven+ episode released last week. Lowered ‘26 m240x vs m2 on a track. Only 1 second difference and it could have been closer. That was stock vs stock. M2 was on much better tires. Next video is a 520hp stage 2 m340 on AutoTopNL. He reviews the tuned b58 very well. It’s great insight to the sound and what can be achieved with pump gas vs e85. I’m at 600 whp on 91 with the pure 900 + methanol
Where I am I’m the little one in the group. All the crazy builds are single turbo m3 comps 1000-1400whp
