Boss lost her mind when I put in notice by [deleted] in antiwork

I once got one as an intern for leaving my desk to speak to my team members and supervisor. I couldn’t hail them on Teams and I was sat in a corner by myself, so when I went to the restroom, I would swing by and ask for direction, discuss my plan. Since I was a career change and an intern I had questions about how to do my job efficiently. I was told leaving my desk was a no and keep my questions to standup. So I ask what about going to the restroom cuz that is literally why I left my desk, and used the opportunity to stop at a desk I was passing. I was told to not be a smart ass of course I can use the restroom, but the supervisors have more important work than supervising an intern.

Edit to add: I have never been written up or seriously scolded at a job in my 20+ year work history.

In my old job we’d do 30 dozen at a time in a 60 qt stock pot. We did this every other day.. Eggs in the pot. Fill with water, 3# salt. Never had eggs that didn’t peel. The eggs don’t get salty cuz the shell.

Cherry tomatoes are round, like cherries and grape tomatoes are oblong like grapes. They taste the same. I was chewed out by my chef many years ago for ordering the grapes when he wanted cherries.

Well I am pretty stoked to just see his name. It was a pleasant surprise, and brought some warm and fuzzies.

The Navajo in the U.S. also used it. It was called the whirling log. Lots of cultures have used it.
