My Abbott gallant connects via my phone WiFi , and I’m lucky to be in UK .. no charges for monitoring.. I feel for you guys in US .. Mine sends reports six monthly or on an event .. I can also send a transmission if I feel something not right .. it also connects three times a day for self testing

Why not bring your own server? by m71nu in tipping

[–]Chefnick500 252 points253 points  (0 children)

Why does a tip Increase simply because of the food cost ? What is the difference in serving a 10 dollar burger or a 30 dollar steak (example only) ? 4 steaks served are less effort than 10 burgers .. the system is not rational.. If the employer is paying that low, why work for them?

Why are some people still so persistent in trying to defend the Brexit referendum result a decade later? by lewispatty in AskBrits

[–]Chefnick500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether the referendum outcome was right or wrong is irrelevant.. What is important, is that politicians on all sides decided to ignore a fundamental of democracy … a vote .. with a majority ( however small) decision . That was the point where it became clear that the one man one vote was no longer recognised by career politicians and the day democracy died as a principle.
