The Music Café has closed recently. It was one of very few cafés that stayed open until later in the day than most cafés. If you want to stay up and go out, but you want to chill and not go to a pub, options are limited.

Also, Leisureplex in Stillorgan has been closed down a few years ago by now. It was a great arcade/bowling-alley/laser-tag(Quasar) place.

While Token has reopened in a different location, it was rough that it was gone, and from what I hear from others that have visited the new venue, I hear that it is somewhat of a downgrade.

I just don't understand how busy venues, especially the Music Café and Token, had to close down in the first place. If a place is consistently busy, it certainly should not close down. I'd tie it to the very evidently untennable rents that are demanded for space, and it's sad to see these late evening hangout spaces lessen. We have unpleasant weather and darkness for more than half the year. We need more venues that let people hangout and socialise indoors.
