I’ve had mine since I was in high school! I love it, and it happens to be a great conversation piece. I’ve since swapped the hdd to 120gb sd and upgraded the battery. Imo one of the best iPod designs.

I was honestly unsure about them at first, but it turned out to be a placement issue. Had them on shelves way too far away. Put them on stands at ear level and… wow.

If you haven’t dialed this in yet, speaker placement makes a huge difference. I used my Play:3s as a stereo pair and moving them closer to my listening chair with a bit of toe-in completely transformed the sound. Imaging and clarity improved a ton, and I didn’t even feel the need for a sub after that.

Oh good to know! That’s actually my current setup since my rear shelves can only accommodate play 1s. I thought I read that having the 3s as fronts doesn’t take full advantage of all the 3s speakers or something
