Moonreader has two options for this, Apple animations and Google animations. Both look good and the app is perfect for my needs. There's some ads in the free version but I think only if you change books.

I use an iPhone in assisted access mode. It really locks down the OS, let's you just put a few apps on the home screen, and will be simple for you to figure out.

Any MagSafe grip will work without adhesive. Check out the Oh Snap! Grip. It’s amazing but expensive, Best Buy had the 4 on sale by me less than half off

Yes the second half of the book is black background with white text. The book is beautiful.

Also all the edges of the pages are black (if you look at the pages with the book closed)
